Catching up-------- a few thoughts...

AP needs to chill about twitter/fanbase/social media and players threatening to transfer---- why would a passionate fanbase who gives a rip support a 3-7 problematic stubborn gump? Are we supposed to sing his praises? AP is putting the player transfer thing in their heads... kids talk, they usually don't walk if a good replacement comes in... so are they gonna transfer and sit out because they like 3-7 seasons? GTFO...... Heck, Pruitt didn't play several of them enough like Key, Wideman, Beckwith, Hyatt, so more than likely a new coach would, or at least give them a fresh chance/opportunity... why would they leave when they barely got on the field?

Crouch isn't transferring, and especially not to be a RB... otherwise he'd be one here... the whole reason he came here was to be a LB because of injuries at RB.. He wouldn't make the rotation at this point at LB at most schools...

HB isn't transferring to sit out... he's not going to GT to start... that kid who was the QB for them (GT) this year would run circles around him...

Too much has gone on this week for Pruitt to be retained. He gone... the issue is what are we willing to pony up for his replacement?

Still several good upgrades to gump available and would most likely come--- Herman, Gus, Napier, Freeze, Chadwell.... good assistants out there-- Steele, Mason, etc, and plenty of bright minded OC's...

You bring in a solid replacement with a competent staff and most, if not all will stay...

If the falcons move off Ryan, trade Julio and get a young QB contract... They could quickly become favorites in the south. They have legit pieces elsewhere

I think I disagree - I suppose the Saints could quickly digress if Brees retires and they likely needing to shed players with the cap position, which is by far the worst in football. The Bucs have some aging pieces (Brady, Gronk) and Barnett, Godwin, Brown, David, Suh are FAs, but they have some cap room to maybe sign a couple of those guys, so they should be at least solid again next year. Carolina's record wasn't good, but they're somewhat young and were competitive in nearly all their games, even without McCaffery most of the season.

That brings me to Atlanta, yes, they have some nice pieces to work with, but they're also the oldest roster in the NFL and also have the third worst cap situation in football for next year. Trading Ryan and Jones may be better in the long run and open up a TON of cap room in 2022/2023, but it absolutely does not benefit them next year salary cap or talent wise. The dead cap for those two players would outweigh their salary cap for 2021, so it'd effectively worsen their cap position for next year than it already is. While yes, they'd likely get a decent draft picks in return, it's extremely unlikely that any rookie is going to come in and be better than Ryan/Jones would be next year.

I wasn't so much responding to you as to those who have pivoted from this being a coaching issue to an everything-but-coaching issue. If we were winning, none of this would be happening.

Now whether the AD, president, and chancellor are doing the right things, I have no insight, only faith that formerly successful people didn't lose the judgment and decision making that made them successful to start with when they became part of UT's leadership. You would know better than the rest of us whether that is true or not.

Agreed-- losing magnifies issues that otherwise would have been minimized. And makes adversaries out of people when working together is the better path forward.

I've lost respect for certain people, and I hope some things stay behind the curtain. This has taken an ugly turn, and it doesn't need to get any worse. I'll leave it at that.

Also, why are we talking about UT being the dumpster fire and the sky is falling when FL is facing NCAA penalties as well and it sounds like their coach doesn't want to be there and is trying to get out...
