can confirm the infractions have now turned from being focused solely on some assistant coaches and improper benefits to the being focused on that and the role the head coach played in that as well as other violations the head coach may have been involved in. the wheels are indeed turning and the tone of the investigation has completely changed as well.

I can get excited about the possibility of replacing Pruitt....But if it's due to possible illegal behavior or sanctions, I don't see how that would have good proven coaches 'wanting' to be the next coach....wish they would just pay the buyout and send him packing....Before this makes the program look like damaged goods to all future suiters

Not trying to do a dirty drive by... haha

I still got close friends on the hill and would never want to burn a bridge there. Which is why i didn’t go into detail about the investigation when i got wind of it. (I still don’t know exactly what it’s about, i just know it’s a compliance/Thornton center vs a couple football staffers including CJP).

The reason i said ruh-roh was because i trust info that Pruitt absolutely cannot offer contracts to any assistants (even tho he has spoken with some) and this investigation has gotten to the point where he is basically calling UTs bluff. “Fire me or gtfo out of my way” is the text i got.
Why does Pruitts response actually earn respect from me??🤔🤔I kinda feel the same way. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t think it’s that simple. No one is “in his way”. Knowing a little bit how compliance works... they are probably in communication with NCAA and are trying to decide what to report to them and what they can do to “self penalize” so the NCAA doesn’t have to step in. So when writers say the “ncaa isn’t the ones investigating” ... yes that’s partially true. But only because we are doing it for them.

There’s also a good likely hood that NCAA asked us to investigate this because of someone turning us in

Doesn't really matter. You said that he can't make hires right now. As an organization, you have to let him work if you plan to keep him. This is a crucial period of time for hiring staff. You can always fire him without cause and pay his buyout. People have to make a decision: cut bait now or wait to "see" if you can save money with cause when you will be severely limited at hiring a HC in 2 weeks. It seems like it is always about the money, and especially now, it shouldn't be.

Can't believe VN is excited we may be looking at NCAA sanctions now... Massive player exits, and de-commits. miss on 2022 class because of NCAA issues. Could be worst case scenario...
In the end it falls on Pruitt. We are already on probation. Been on probation for the last 15 years or more. Now we are looking for light at the end of the tunnel.

If the a HC says he didn’t know he’s lying.
Joe knew
Urban knew
Such on a so forth

That’s going to be a awesome selling point during the coaching search.... Hey come work for us but just know you might not get paid if you piss us off.

Could end up being a disaster if it leaks that the NCAA was tipped off so we could fire with cause. That will be our next way of going cheap. Not only do we hire cheap, but we fire cheap, too. We'll be lucky to get McGoogleMe.

If someone can ask questions of the mods on VQ, the question should be "can you confirm or deny that Pruitt has retained representation for this investigation?"

Could see UF poaching Campbell or Fickell. They wouldn't give UT a second thought but would go to Gainesville IMO. Mullen's fast success and the recruiting landscape down there make that job very attractive.
The fans and admin also make it unattractive. Think of how many good coaches have left there: spurrier, Meyer, and now Mullen. They also ran off a guy that went to ATL twice in three years. Worst best job in the country

It’s already leaked, that’s why he’s calling their bluff, imo. Don’t blame him one damn bit.

If we received a credible tip (even from a rival school) of recruiting infractions and opened an investigation, I think we are required to let the NCAA know that we have done so.
