Gus is hit or miss on QBs. That's better than just missing.

When Gus had a QB, he had one of the best teams in the country. When he didn't have a QB, he had a DC who bailed him out so he could still win 7 or 8 games and keep his job. Auburn never would have had the strength of their 2013 and 2017 seasons purely on the strength of Steele's defense, but he'd need to find a good DC again if he came here.
When Gus had the most athletic QB in the history of college football he was successful. Then he made it to the national championship game with a defensive back at QB.

He has never developed a QB... ever. That isn't hit or miss.

Not trying to do a dirty drive by... haha

I still got close friends on the hill and would never want to burn a bridge there. Which is why i didn’t go into detail about the investigation when i got wind of it. (I still don’t know exactly what it’s about, i just know it’s a compliance/Thornton center vs a couple football staffers including CJP).

The reason i said ruh-roh was because i trust info that Pruitt absolutely cannot offer contracts to any assistants (even tho he has spoken with some) and this investigation has gotten to the point where he is basically calling UTs bluff. “Fire me or gtfo out of my way” is the text i got.
No way to keep a coach causing that much friction and dysfunction. And then giving him permission to make FIVE assistant hires.

can confirm the infractions have now turned from being focused solely on some assistant coaches and improper benefits to the being focused on that and the role the head coach played in that as well as other violations the head coach may have been involved in. the wheels are indeed turning and the tone of the investigation has completely changed as well.
He's done

In fairness, Pruitt has a point here.

except when it’s involving people who’s literal job is to help him and his players stay out of trouble and basically “allow him to cheat”. That’s what compliance is really for.
”His people” are the ones who snitched. I wholeheartedly agree with the last sentence. Fire him or let him do his job.

If you think Freeze is gonna be an option next year, then play the long game and go ahead and get him before his stock is too high and out of our reach. For goodness sakes.

You're slow response about the Sanford and Son present for her birthday got me in this mess. She didn't think it was nearly as funny as VN did. Now I'm stuck watching Wonder Woman 1984 and going out to eat.......on a weeknight!

Just curious... given two options, which would you take?
1. Take Marrone now
2. Another year of Pruitt and then hire from the available field?

Gus had as much, if not more, talent at Auburn than he’d have here and plays essentially the same schedule, except he also gets Florida every year (to go with GA and the inbreds). That’s gonna be a no from me, dog.

Why be proactive when you can sit around with your thumb up your ass for another 11 months?

So can you confirm or deny, does this have anything to do with events that happened over the summer?

He's never developed one that he recruited out of high school. It's a big flaw yes. Jeremy Johnson stunk and Bo Nix stinks.

However, you say "made it to the national championship game with a defensive back at QB" like that is embarrassing, unimpressive, or a bad thing. Could Pruitt have done that? Gus had another good year with Stidham and was a second victory over Georgia from being in the playoff.

We could do way worse. This University just isn't going to hire a Freeze or a Matt Campbell. Gus is the best combo of coaching ability + a guy our people would actually consider hiring.
