Yea, I’ve given up hope for replacement of Pruitt. Might as well support returning players, new recruits and the team. just gonna be really hard to stomach another losing season, all while everyone around us making things happen. Good ol boys on the Hill still holdin faith that Jermy gonna work like heck and turn this thing around.
Y’all saying 6-6 next year, I’m having a hard time seeing that. Outside SC, candy, and the two OOC cupcakes (beside Pitt), I’ll bet we’re dogs in all of them.

Appreciate that. As the old saying goes, perception is reality. As of now, the perception is that’s Theres an issue from the top down.
Fulmer is Pruitts boss. If he’s as involved in film and game prep, and practices as rumored, why didn’t he meddle in Pruitts decision to keep trotting JG out there? Why weren’t our younger, better athletes getting more meaningful reps? Many here would never question Fulmers dedication to UT, but most would question whether he’s qualified to be a successful AD? I truly think pride is most likely blurring the long term vision of both Fulmer and Pruitt.
I for one don’t believe and haven’t heard that Fulmer is meddling in Pruitt’s program anymore than he needs to. However, I believe Fulmer does give Pruitt guidance in a lot of areas where most AD’s do not. I don’t think that’s really a bad thing. It seems like most on here feel that Pruitt is inept. So if that were true, why would you not want a hall of fame football coach meddling a little bit in the program? The idea was whenever Pruitt was hired, that Fulmer would play a heavy role in grooming Jeremy to be a head football coach in this league. A lot of folks at least on this site think he’s done a lousy job, and the reality is those same folks really don’t know the truth of the situation.

Dammit. ..I don't ****** care..screw it, go ahead and hire somebody else's trash that will not fix anything. I am sick of arguing with you worshippers of mediocrity...I'm done with this.
Cuz you feel more being the superstar fan that cares more but doesn’t have solutions! Damn right! Eff it all and go Team Meh!

They hired the Wisconsin DL coach. That seems like a pretty good hire. He had been with Chryst at Pitt and Wisconsin.

It's not like they will all the sudden become Alabama or anything, but Vandy is clearly trying to make a run of it with Lea. These hires along with upgrading their facilities clearly show that. They will start to do better in recruiting too I bet. I will be really interested to see where they are in about 3 years.

I don’t see him and the Jets being a good pairing. The good thing is he is a QB guru so if they keep Darnold (one year left on deal), he could see if they can rehab him. Also has backup plan of drafting QB at 2.

I just think he and them would be odd pairing. Of course Dak is a free agent. He and Mullen could pair up again
Mullen and Fields would be a good combo. His type of QB. Though Darnold is still salvageable too.

Unless he’s fired you might as well pull for him. Otherwise you are just wanting to be miserable for the next 8 months waiting on the moment you can say “I told you it would be like this.” I remember when we talked recruiting. Oh the good ole days.
There is a third option. Quit giving AF. I barely watched Butch’s last year and was actually laughing maniacally when he lost to Vandy in 16. I knew he was a loser then and there. Knew we should fire him. Knew 17 would be awful. At some point, all you can do is laugh and quit giving it so much time and energy. Apathy is the killer of programs. UTAD is walking a fine line.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t pass us before too long, the way our program continues its steady moonwalk toward the abyss.

Dak’ll be franchised if not maxed out in resigning.

I don’t think it’s a certainty that Dak is gonna get a big deal to return to Dallas coming off an injury. Especially with Cowboys having a top 10 pick in a QB heavy draft. It’s no secret that McCarthy and Dak weren’t fond of each other originally either.

This may have already been discussed but if Mullen were to leave for the NFL does this force the UT admin's hand in any way pertaining to JP with the current pool of coaches that are or will be likely available next year?

Lol if he's inept you fire him. "Inept" isn't someone who "needs some help" it is someone who is helpless!

Having or showing no skill

Furthermore, CPF himself hasn't coached in over a decade and the game has changed a lot since then. The game has passed him by too, by a country mile. Just look at who his 3 candidates were - 3 SEC DCs lmao. He was still in the good ole SEC boy club mindset, when reality is many of the best coaches were outside of the league and offensive guys. The SEC has been total trailrunners on innovation and Fulmer's hire shows it. He was willing to let Barnes go...extended Jermy BEFORE the season (wtf?!?). He is not made out to be a modern AD in this day and age of football.

Do you know Pruitt personally? Based on interviews and on field actions, he seems like a type A personality and type a’s don’t be like to told what or how to do things.
So if Fulmer is giving him advice, is he taking it, or is it going in one ear and out the other?
As for the meddling, several on here have said Fulmer is way too involved with the day to day, film study, and game prep.

Them folks know situation results in a 3-7 record. What else do you need to know?
Phil hired a kid that needed to be taught how to ride a bike, and hasn’t took the training wheels off in a league that others hire BMX super cross riders.
