I also honestly don't know. I will have major doubts about any hire we make, because you're absolutely right, our UT admin is absolute garbage and are not seriously committed to excellence or they would throw everything we have at one of those big names. They would do like Alabama and not take no for an answer. It is the one thing about Bama I admire. They don't care about profit margin, they care about WINNING..period.

I wouldn't revolt over a Hermehn hire, I would get behind it, but I don't believe for a second that he could fix this mess. He was handed a better roster, in a state loaded with talent, in a weaker conference..and he couldn't cut it...period. What in the hell do you really see that makes you think he could fix this toxic dump?

Hence my depression over our situation.
Hermehn. Lol. Good one, Everett.

We will be 14+ point underdogs to each one of those teams yet again in year 4.

Hey man, but listen, apparently these first 3 seasons don't count, they are just kind of a warm up... NEXT YEAR is the year that we start improving and just sit back and watch us keep improving the next 4-5 and then MAYBE we can be good enough to win our division...

Austin is Jeremy the coach next year

I think it all just depends on the investigation and how that plays out. He has been actively talking to coaches and I believe he plans on making hires in the not so distant future but it is a bit quiet out there and that is odd to me. Is that because they don’t feel there is a reason to come out and say what they find obvious or is it because they don’t want to paint themselves into a corner?

No its you cant put the expectations of Atlanta on a coach when the program has been there since 07. Again numbers are arbitrary but putting a number on it is getting to consistently 8+ wins. Then we can start worrying about Atlanta. If I had to give a 5 year timeline for Pruitt after this season it would be something like this:
1- 8+wins
2- 8+wins
3-9 wins
4-5 10+

That’s bare minimum. I think the reasonable expectation for any coach at UT should be...
Year one: whatever
Year two: 6-7 wins
Year three: 7-8 wins
Year four: 8-10 wins
Year five: 8-10 wins, and still in the hunt for the East late into the season

So you are giving JP five more years after his third year going 3-7? So his first 3 seasons were just a wash, or just practice/warming up to get serious and actually start to improve? Interesting... not sure that dog hunts for most people here....
I think where this program is coming from its most realistic, but if Pruitt can turn it around next year then the timeline jumps up a lot. There is honestly a shot at 11. I 100% believe Bama will be the only team on our schedule that is truly unbeatable next year. But no I done think Atlanta is realistic before 23 if everything goes perfectly and more likely 25 when the loaded 22 closes grows and matures. If we get most of them.

Saying Texas is a hard program to win at is ridiculous. There should be only one seriously even game talent wise every year and that is Okie. They have a monster talent advantage over every other team in that conference.

If Sark can get the right DC that can actually develop the talent they get..he will have them in the playoffs. If he doesn't he will be the next fired Texas coach with a crap defense.

So is Sark good or bad? I can never keep up.

Agree.... And if JP would have given us a win over KY, Aub or Ark with some player development, we would not be thinking there is absolutely no hope.

The UK was what ended hope in Pruitt for me. Not just the loss, but the team effort. It wasn’t there. The two pick-sixes seemed too easy for UK. The entire game the team didn’t seem to care they were being embarrassed by UK at home.

I 100% agree, that's where I was with Pruitt. However, that timeline was from the point we are at right now.

If he didn't fail, he wouldn't be getting fired. Who in their right mind calls getting axed a success?
We're not getting a National Championship winning coach, Gruden or anyone that all of college football is going to be envious of. We are not even getting Gundy. There is going to be a whole lot wrong with whomever is the coach next year....Pruitt or ???

I think Freeze fits the opposite of Pruitt thing nicely. Isn't a bammer and in fact has had some small Tennessee ties in his past. Is an offensive guy and a better personality. And would likey be able to pull out some wins. Has some scars but has had a little time to let them heal.

He is the hire if we make a change imo. He makes the most sense for us right now. If we keep Pruitt I think it's because there were too many people against Freeze. Which I do get. But I think that will prove over time to have been a mistake and a missed opportunity.
If you notice all the ones we have wanted are offensive guys with head coaching experience with nothing to do with AL.
