There’s a guy on TOS that is duck hunting with Ty and the sons of UT (see TS thread) who seems to think we’re in on some bigger transfers and deep into the ‘22 class right now. Also seems to think that there will be a big turnaround next season, well, that’s the way I’m reading it anyway. Tifwiw
🤨 I mean they do still have to play the games...

All signs point to 5-7, 6-6 at best

Yep. Donald Duck likely will be there, too.

IDT there's an expectation to be in ATL in five years. UT thought it needed to stabilize the program and there was consensus around five years to put in a foundation and rebuild. IDT there was a number put on this year, and IDT there will be a number put on next year. Fans do that, but I think decisionmakers are looking for things to align from a bigger-picture perspective. When they do, UT will act accordingly.

And I say this knowing few will agree.
So they fiddle while "Rome" burns..

Excellent ....

To be fair, I call Chadwell Mickey Mouse because I don't like his offense.

I just 5 years on things because everything ive seen says Pruitt has sold this as a 5 year rebuild and I think Fulmer has ever intention of him getting 5 years. I also agree on fans putting numbers on seasons to a point, but I also believe in hot seat years, maybe not next year an AD will hint strongly at the coach to what/who/how many they need to get done. Like I said to another poster, when I take emotions out of things I do to a point think the admin is doing the smart thing and not rushing to hire of fire. Status quo honestly may be the best option going into next year. The only coach that is a clear cut upgrade is Freeze and he isn't an option for whatever reason.

Not at all.... I was just saying that he had to play the ones that had practiced and he felt gave us the best chance to win bc we weren’t going to give him a pass by him just throwing younger players in the game.
I understand that. My question was about your comment about Tennessee fans not being "understanding" about losing. I asked do you feel we should be understanding like Vandy fans or FL fans? FL had a team in the top ten this year after hiring a coach at the same time we did. They are NOT understanding at all right now after losing to the defending national champs, losing be a few points to the #1 team in the nation, and getting drilled by a top offense after having several starters opt out of the bowl game. They expect to win. Find a way! If you have been on here a while you know I am the head cheerleader. I was very understanding of all the reasons why we were losing. Until they lost to Arkansas which was the worst team in the SEC for 2 years and had hired a OL coach because he did more with what he had than we did. I hate it when fans overreact, but Tennessee fans have been loyal and understanding through a lot for a long, long time. If the university wants us to be understanding like Vanderbilt and not really care, it's not going to be long before we have the same amount of fans in the stands. Of course we will still get the TV money like Vandy does.

Lol...heard something similar to this for 15 years. After we win 5 or 6 games next year the 22 class will be toast.

I wish I had as much confidence as they do in Pruitt. Wonder who is feeding them about the "big turnaround" next season?

I also think they wanted the opposite of Kiffin. Somebody who would feel lucky to be there and would never leave us for something bigger again. This is a quick way to get a really bad coach.
Then we got Butch who was the opposite of Dooley. Then Pruitt that was the opposite of Butch. So who is the opposite of Pruitt? Offensive guy that has been a head coach before.....

He’d be right. Folks might very well be singing a different tune on here this time next year.

The simple fact that JP has been here 3yrs, is most likely getting at least a 4th, are you saying there's not an expectation to be in ATL in 2 more years (5 total), or are you saying 5yrs from now? If there's not an expectation to be in ATL 5yrs from now, then burn the entire thing down and move on... that's a weak, non-competitive, pathetic mindset, with a clear view of not caring or wanting UT football to ever be good again... If it's 5yrs total of gump, then I can at least see and understand it, but don't agree with it...

Hope spring eternal, I guess. This really is probably the best case scenario, get impact transfers, show vast improvement, get a lot of the in state talent in 2022. But, there's only about 1% of me that believes this is possible with Pruitt. He's going to have to have an Ebenezer Scrooge type change for it to happen.

This. What a smack in the face to Tennessee football fans.

He better hope a lot more guys enter the portal and we land all of them, because outside of Gilbert our players are the best ones in there. There is no one worth a damn.
