The official "Jeremy Pruitt has been fired" WATCH THREAD.

They’re moving the ball like crazy but couldn’t score first half. Penalties and turnovers

And that doesn't jive with what Adkins is saying. They want to win. Maybe its rust, maybe its Cincy, but a loss is a loss. Guess Gators didn't have to play either. If UGa didn't want to play, then they should have sat out of the Bowl season.

Man... Gators got embarrassed (I know opt-outs... but 35pts!), GA is getting embarrassed, Auburn getting handled. On TOP of Kentucky, Arkansas... we lost badly to these teams.

Just how bad were we this year... if the SEC is getting embarrassed in bowl games?

Fulmer & Co., Sunshine Pumpers, Head-in-Sand-folks ... are we sure that we want to keep JP around?

With half of a Georgia team, that doesn’t even want to be there.
An awful look for SEC recruiting to see GA struggle with a G5 school and AU get pushed around by a B1G research school.

Granted NW is uncharacteristically good this year but they are not a high quality football program.

And Cinci is just taking advantage of a lazy GA effort.

An ugly look for the SEC on the big stage.

We only get so many fall Saturday's in our lifetimes and none of us know how many more - if any - we have left. That's why "lame ducking" it with Gomer Conrnbread really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Some people don't have the time to be ok with another fall with him at the helm and basically "losing" another season.

Saying that, I'm still not panicked and have maintained that I still think he's gone that the university is just trying to find out how much ammunition they have with the internal investigation to lower the buyout.

I'm more irritated with the portion of the fanbase that think it's ok to bring him back just because it would save a few dollars. I think it's been argued ad nauseum that dumping him now versus next fall really won't matter at all in the grand scheme of "money saved." That's because when you factor in the potential lost ticket revenue and lost concessions at the stadium, lost merchandise revenue, and the fact that you'll have to fire a whole slew of new assistant coaches - it might be cheaper to fire him now.

But I understand them taking their time to see what they can do about lowering that buyout. Tennessee doesn't have to be in a huge hurry in getting rid of him. I just want them to make the RIGHT decision.

"A few dollars"..... a million here, a million there, and before you know it, you've got "a few dollars." Sheesh.

They paid off Butch to the tune of "a few dollars" just 3 years ago. Now, let's pay off Pruitt for "a few dollars" and the Freeze buyout for "a few dollars" and whatever staff we need.

Given COVID, showing any evidence of the projected "dip in revenue" from not replacing Pruitt vs replacing him is sketchy.

Contrary to the belief here, money doesn't grow on trees. Fulmer botched this with the extension and replacing Pruitt is a fiscal nightmare to sell.

Case in point: WHAT DID WE GET FOR OUR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BUYOUT OF BUTCH?

Wow, totally unhinged and delusional.

Just because we wound up with Gomer doesn't mean we should keep him because we're afraid of screwing it up again. Currie bungled this deal in 2017 badly. I have confidence that it won't happen this time around. It couldn't get much worse.

And money doesn't grow on trees but at some point you can't afford to not make a move. A bad coach doesn't just affect the university. It affects hundreds of local businesses in a negative way. And these businesses need all the business they will be able to get next fall after the year of Covid.

Fulmer JUST bungled the Pruitt situation with an extension but you have confidence???? Why?

I AGREE that Pruitt needs to go but it's not that easy to just keep buying out coaches ESPECIALLY when your AD gives them an undeserved extension and raise. Fulmer has got to go FIRST....... and I see that happening never. Legacy is killing us.

Go back and look at any posts I've made on this subject and from the beginning I've said Fulmer isn't making the next decision on head coach.

He will be lucky to not be fired with him. IF Fulmer is retained he might gladhand and smile for the camera but he's not making the call on the next coach.

What do we get for keeping Pruitt?

NOTHING! Talent gone and ass the previous poster mentioned, the $2 million we save by waiting one year on cornbreads contact will be wiped out with the 2 year contracts to replace dline coach, Oline coach and possibly others. Context is your friend, as well as the whole picture.

Agreed that Fulmer SHOULD be gone and welcome to MORE buyout money. The fiscal aspects of replacing people has to be a factor.

IF Fulmer is still employed by UT and isn't involved in the selection of the next coach, I'll be highly surprised. There's an enormous amount of "He got us a Natty" deference. Will he ALONE pick the coach? No, but he'll be in the mix AND he's highly responsible for Pruitt being hard to fire today.

I'm not at all saying Pruitt DESERVES to stay. Not at all. I'm saying the "whole picture" includes the extension and raise which makes him much harder to fire. Fulmer screwed us. BOTH need to go and that's a lot of money.

It's not that I want Pruitt. It's that it's not that easy to say to the money folks: Yeah, we know you bought off Butch for about $10 million just 3 years ago but....... here we are again......

I'm ready for the insiders to man up, an admit they don't know crap. It doesn't matter who it is, how much they say, between gruden and this, they're full of crap. Most know that, most have fun with it, but it's hilarious how constantly wrong they are, and some still believe it. So much, some tell others to go fibd another team if they doubt the great insiders, 😂😂😂. Nothing, it's obvious that's what they know.
