The only “paperwork” issue that could hold up a transfer now is academic courses being transferable and discipline issues that might hurt.

I ain’t buying anyone at tenn is doing anything sinister like is being said by the op

My friend inside the program just texted me that Pruitt and Fulmer are both actively trying to block transfers for multiple starters. You can probably skim through old posts and guess as to who one or more of them may be, just passing it along. Sounds like Pruitt’s former gripes with Kirby, harbaugh, and others blocking transfer are pot calling the kettle....
How can they block a transfer? I thought everyone gets a free transfer this year?

It’s unfortunately not a matter of learning his lesson. He doesn’t have the proper intelligence and temperament.
What? CJP has a good temperament & has a very high football IQ. His players love him.

His issue is he was only one who wanted this job after a complete train wreck of a search. Dave Doeren said NO to TN?! Lol.

He may sound like an idiot, but he isnt. Just not ready for prime time.

If Chaney stays how on earth is this team gonna win at least 6 games next year? His best year at UT was with the outstanding talent of the 2012 team. Next year won't compare. Pruitt's only chance to even start digging out of this insurmountable hole next year is to hire an innovative OC with a system that's not too complex to have success with in year 1. I like Chaney but as we all know his offenses thrive with superior talent like most pro style based systems do. We don't have that talent yet. I'm hoping Pruitt can at least improve the defense next season but offense needs to be his focal point if he wants to survive.

Well, if Pruitt is back ill support him. Just hope he somehow figures it out. He has to figure it out if TN wants to be relevant. I dont have any faith in him, but whatever. I'll watch on tv when I feel like it, but I won't be going to any games.
I'll support him just like a president who may not have been my choice. If he does well, we all benefit. Wishing for failure does nobody any good. However, this is not going to end well.

If that's true and they succeed, you can definitely count on those players to "give their all" for the Vols..... 🙄

Being generous here, unless Bailey/Salter is somehow the next Lawrence I think we win max 3. Vandy, USC, MSU? God help us.

Dude I have us at 2. MAX! And that’s if one of the teams we play has catastrophic injuries on their depth chart.

We’re gonna be horrible. Terrible. So bad. Easily the worst team in history.

Because Fahr Pruitt! Doom and gloom! Death and misery.

And such....

Don't want to read. Are we still defending Pruitts strengths? Is he still possibly being fired? Are there still bandwagon fans? Is Pruitt a solid DC or not? Thanks

I feel sorry for the people who support Pruitt as the head coach. The ones who think he is doing the best he can with what he has. The ones who think he just needs more time. He will not succeed here. Next season will be terrible and we will lose one of the best in state classes we have had in a very long time. He will eventually be fired. You are not intelligent. You should have a job working for the athletic department. You would fit right in.

I understand what you’re saying but I think if we are keeping JP next season we might as well keep Chaney too. Is he innovative enough? No. Big thing will be Pruitt keeping his hands completely off the offense and hamstringing what Chaney can call. Also Pruitt needs to stop calling offensive plays in the middle of a game just cause he feels like it. Who do you think called the pass at Auburn that resulted in a pick six after we had just ran the ball 12 straight times and was about to score? Wasn’t Chaney.

Has to be talking about a player who’s already in the portal because of the paperwork issue. I know y’all’s BVS is kicking in but think about it. He mentioned said transfers 2nd option.

Maybe 4-6, with some shuffling. Hopefully, some will leave on their own. Wouldn't count on Chaney bailing, though. Like I said a while back, he can coach QBs, too, and free up a spot for another defensive guy.
OC should be coaching QB’s IMHO

I know for a fact “issues with ‘paperwork’” are about to keep one of them from getting a spot in their 2 preferred landing spots. It’s disgraceful, really.
Can they really "block" anyone though? That changed like 3-4 years ago. Or maybe you mean the destination (within the SEC).

They absolutely have to place the kid in the portal within 2 days of the 'notification of transfer'. They can try to talk them back off the ledge, but if they are keeping them out of the portal, that would be a violation and they should contact the NCAA.
