Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

Hyatt and Johnson play two totally different positions. Johnson is a true slot WR that likes to work underneath and between the hashes. A like mans jordan Mathews from Vanderbilt.

Hyatt is a field stretcher that was used inside and stacked to prevent teams from pressing him.
Yeah I know I would have liked Hyatt on the field more frequently.... I wouldn’t have put Johnson in our top four..... he really struggled with getting separation.

Think we should try to take Simpson and Horn in the ‘22 class. Gotta be a way to sell that.
Horn is going to be on TV tonight at 7 in the 7A title game vs Grayson. It will be on gpb.org for those not in GA. His team is overmatched, but he has had a great playoffs.

AP and Hubbs have been saying a lot of recruits are reading the board and that fan response is hurting the recruiting. I wouldn't typically care, but if this staff is coming back, we need to land that in state class next year. It is loaded and could change the direction of the program.

Not directed at you, but I’m sure going 3-7 and getting blown out in every loss has nothing to do with recruits not wanting to sign. I spend a lot of money on the program(not FU money) and I wouldn’t want my kid to play for this staff. I also really doubt the current staff will be here for the next 3-5 years.

Mullen is a much better coach. It was painfully obvious to me when I was sitting in Neyland stadium 3 years ago watching us getting our brains bashed in. I wanted to blame it on Butch’s players, but now it’s painfully obvious Butch’s players were the best on the team.
Mullen wouldn't keep trotting JG out there to lay an egg every week. He would get someone else ready to play at the QB position. Hell, he wouldn't keep playing an awful QB in blowout losses either. Anyone with a brain would've put in another QB to get meaningful reps.

Just got caught up on everything. I’m going to go ahead and start that break I was talking about. Y’all don’t need me in here dogging Pruitt and the administration all offseason. It’s going to be nightmarish enough on its own.

For anyone else dissatisfied with the direction of the program, I encourage you to get a hold of any University contacts you have and let them know about it. Be annoying and relentless (I know I am). Don’t give them the benefit of the doubt; they haven’t earned it.

Y’all are great. Hope things get better and (hopefully) I’ll talk to you all again soon.

#3 In passing yards, #1 in TD’s, #1 in 20+ yard TD’s, #1 in QBR, #3 in Y/A(.1 behind Kelly), #2 in completion%(behind only Sean White)... Oh and he had those stats while being #8 in attempts. So imagine how many more yards and TD’s he woulda had if he got 100 more attempts like Lock. Or 50 more attempts like hurts and Allen. Doing that with a below average pass pro O-line

Oh not to mention another 850 yards and 12 TD’s on the ground. You’re wrong. Bye
I don't think SEC third best in yards per attempt behind Austin Allen and Chad Kelly constitutes "great downfield passer," but whatever.

Despite what people may think of him. I’m just in disbelief that Fulmer would hitch his wagon to Pruitt.

We’re really going to do Derek Dooley 2012 all over again? Even down to replacing 75-80% of the staff, and cost ourselves more money to fire replace the staff next year.

Fun times.

What if Sexton said, "You can be the AD, if Pruitt is your coach...?"

What if someone had dirt on the program, requiring them to play the same QB while losing?

What if Freeze has the same agent as Fulmer and Pruitt?

What if your football program continues on in an endless cycle until someone with enough power cleans house?

Head coach > OC. That would be a demotion. He is going to get calls from big programs next year. It would be a dumb move.

Won't happen, but wouldn't be a dumb move. The biggest argument against him is that he runs a gimmick offense in a weak conference. That will give a lot of bigger teams pause. If he were to move to a big time school as an OC and show his offense can adapt, a lot more doors will open for him. I'm sure a mid-tier school will give him a shot in the near future, but not sure he's as high on people's lists as you think.

I'm worried this team will be just mediocre enough for this idiotic administration to keep him another year.
CPF has an ax to grind. He feels that he was fired too early, and so he intends not to make the same mistake with JP. I assumed that CPF harbored no ill will....boy was I wrong. I figured he loved UT enough to let the past be the past and realize that it was his time to go. He is definitely tarnishing his legacy.
JP has done nothing in 3 years to demonstrate that he has the capacity to be in charge of a major football program.

You’re aware y/a has nothing do with down field passing.... right? But anyways. If he was so bad at downfield passing why did he have the most 20+ yards TD’s? And why was he only .1 behind Kelly in Y/A and only .3 behind Allen? You’re an idiot, bud

Bro this could be our class but UTAD want them to go to Clemson, Bama, and UGA.

QB - Ty Simpson
RB - Dallan Hayden / Jordan James
WR - Isaiah Horton / Taylor Groves / Cam Miller
OL - Fisher Anderson / Elijah Hood / Addison Nichols
DL - Walter Nolen / Enai White
LB - Destin Wade / Keaton Wade
Secondary - Barrion Brown / Kody Jones / Miles Pollard

Total - 16, mostly instate with 9 spots left.

2 five stars, 12 four stars, 2 high three stars.
