Doesn’t matter how good the team was. He’s still the last QB to bring us a national title and conference title. Also the highest drafted QB for us between Manning and Dobbs

That is all fine and dandy, but he was an average QB at best. Pretty much the main reason we didn’t repeat in 99 IMO.

Again, everyone can appreciate Tees time here as a player however he leaves a lot to be desired as a coach. Had he not played at UT Tee would probably be out of work at the moment, he's just not a good coach.

This is true, his stats were very underwhelming and comparable to JG

Peyton hasn't yet made the mistake of feeling the need to be fired by the University.

We have this obsession as a fanbase with clamoring for hires made with nepotism and then getting all in our feelings when it somehow doesn't work out.

Maybe instead of hiring Tee, Fulmer, etc and then tearing them down on the way out, we could just hire better candidates regardless of what happened in the past.

We had several players in 99 more concerned about the NFL draft than winning games at UT.

God how does it taste AP. That is such a bad response. If the team had started really shaky but got better as the year went on and the more practice reps they got.... sure I’ll buy some of the covid talk. But it didn’t happen that way. We looked our best the first two games (when Missouri was clearly lacking from no off season with new coach) and then just got worse every week despite playing and practicing together more. It doesn’t make sense. it doesn’t add up.

Let me do the math to make it add up:
JG + hardheaded thin skinned bad halftime adjustment former defensive guru gump + two QBs with a bigger upside sitting on the bench rolling boogers + an overrated overpaid offensive coordinator with a complicated offense only he understands + an overrated overpaid staff (minus Jay and Tee imo) that has little to no clue how to develop players = POOP


And if you carry the one - they apparently hate each other and act like Housewives Of Neyland behind the scenes.

It’s only going to get worse as long as they keep the 4 team playoff. Elite recruits know they only have 4-6 teams they can sign with and have a legit shot at competing.
