What is he suppose to say?

Everybody whos anybody even remotely connected to UT said he is going to support his coach no matter what.

When in doubt, say nothing. Fulmer was sending a message with his bowl statement, that unless someone above him takes action, Pruitt will be our coach next year. It was a deliberate statement to act like an FU to everyone clamoring for change. Fulmer has made up his mind. The only question now is whether or not his bosses will force his hand. It ultimately comes down to what Randy Boyd decides. Fulmer has made his wishes clear.

Then Boyd should put the cards on the table:

You can either support the change whomever that may be and get behind us

OR

You can pack your office too.

Conspiracy alert

So, this is Joe Hollingsworth ( far right ) with Randy Boyd at his annual tailgate. Joe has a lot of money and is close to president Randy Boyd

Interesting!

Now does all of this mean anything? Probably not but it's fun to pass the time

Yeah, unfortunately fans don't get to hire and fire UT administration. Best guess, Boyd just wants all this to go away. On one side, he probably has angry boosters calling for change. On the other, he has an AD telling him they have the right guy but he just needs more time, and more staff, and yada, yada, yada. I doubt Boyd wants to recognize that Fulmer is over his head as AD. The perils of being the boss.

Hes already been down the staff change road and it hasnt worked out. So whats the next road to wonder down and try to get a different result?

As each day passes, it seems Pruitt is the coach in 2021. I’m willing to dig in and give the guy a chance. What other choice do I have? You guys can pontificate on “doing something different with your time in the fall” or “emptying Neyland”, but the truth is, folks like us don’t know how to actually do that.

The Vols are a drug. You don’t spend as much time on a message board if you could easily walk away, especially after the last decade.

We might as well roll up our sleeves, support this program, and see if maybe this time we were wrong.

Far to many variables have to go just right at this point for that to work

I don't disagree, that's why I say Fulmer is over his head as AD. He's convinced himself Pruitt is the guy despite all the signs that he's not.

I just want someone to come out and say he’s fired or he’s coming back. Really not that hard.

Same. This lack of communication by the UT Athletic Department through the years has contributed to the toxic environment and fan frustration.

Poor communication creates dysfunction and is evidence of terrible leadership.

Make a decision. Communicate it clearly. Sell the decision.

If whats being reported is true then they stand the chance to lose a lot of money from Donors.

It should be easy but the fat cats dont see it that way.

“I’m thrilled about our football program’s opportunity to compete in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl against a great opponent like West Virginia,” Fulmer said. “First, it’s an opportunity to connect with our many fans throughout West Tennessee and expand upon the rich historical links between the Memphis area and UT. We have so much Tennessee family in and around Memphis—especially our medical school and fantastic alumni. And secondly, it’s a tremendous development opportunity for our team and should serve as a primer to spring practice for Coach Pruitt and our returners.

I’m throwing the towel in hoping for a new HC. Now just need to learn to cope with JP being here next year. Have the sads.😐

Jmo but MONEY always wins, just depends how many fat cats are unhappy. At this point I don’t see how any of them can be happy with what’s been taking place

They have with the Liberty Bowl statement. I wouldn’t expect another statement with, “We really, really mean it this time.” If Fulmer was out of line, I think you’d see at least some noise about that. I bet the higher ups are running the four corners offense and hoping some of the angst from the season subsides as time passes - maybe then they will have some words of affirmation. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t hear another word about it, except for the Hubbs of the world confirming it. JMO, but I hate it.
