Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

The fact it’s Dec 27 so we’re past ESD and we aren’t preparing for a bowl game and he hasn’t been fired seems pretty official to me
That’d be fine if every reputable source we have is still saying a decision hasn’t been made and will likely come within the next week or so.

Hope I’m reading the situation wrong. Sincerely doubt it.
Oh there’s a very good chance we get through this week, nothing happens, and we’re going to 2021 as is.

But I trust Hubbs and LWS, specifically, when they say this decision hasn’t been made and talks are ongoing.

It’s bad planning and leadership, but that’s par for the course around here.

Be patient. The coaching carousel has been fairly quiet, but bowl games are still being played and the NFL still has one more week (next week). Lots of opportunities for coaching movement. Also, it's still the holiday season. As long as a new O-Line coach is not hired, there is still a chance for movement here.

It was a really good game. A strange ending to the 4th quarter.
I think Liberty should've scored and played defense but I get why Freeze was trying to run the clock out and go for the field goal. CC was undefeated for a reason and was definitely capable of scoring quick. It looked like the Liberty RB dropped the ball to keep from scoring. Crazy ending for sure.

My understanding is that he was not paying players directly - the players were using scholarship funds for things other than school related expenses.
Found this: “In 2018, the NCAA released a detailed report concerning numerous NCAA violations that occurred during Chadwell's tenure as the CSU head football coach. The violations ranged from using multiple ineligible players to players using scholarship funds to purchase electronics and jewelry from the campus book store. Ultimately, the NCAA sanctions vacated 18 wins from the 2014 and 2015 seasons and the 2015 Big South Championship. Also vacated were three wins over crosstown rival The Citadel, games during which CSU used ineligible players.”

Something else I read about the ineligible players deal was that CSU only had like 1-3 people working in the compliance department for the whole school. I don’t really put that on the coach.
