It looks like Fulmer knows if he keeps Pruitt and things don't get better next year it'll cost him his job but then again he might find away to keep his job or retire knowing Fulmer

The problem is the lack of clarity. Phil has kinda publicly supported Pruitt, but not really. There should have been a public statement of support or Pruitt should have been fired by now. Instead, we have this weird, dysfunctional limbo. The only thing that is clear is that there are too many cooks in the kitchen, which apparently has been a problem for 15 years and has directly contributed to our football debacle.

Listening to Crompton on the AtoZ sports podcast. Man, that dude has some angst towards Fulmer.
He's one of few former players that will say anything negative about Fulmer at least publicly anyways. The way he makes it sound if Fulmer wasn't the ad that hired Pruitt Fulmer would have no problem firing him now. Fulmer is worried about his image. We've got a hc and ad both in over their heads I think Pruitt realizes it but Fulmer not so much

Could be overall playbook retention but I think it's also Fitz being able to change protection, recognize the Mike and pressures vs Tua missing more often, not throwing well and not using his legs to neutralize that as well as he should. Brian Flores is COY.

Yeah Fitz has been around a long time and probably has much more freedom at the line of scrimmage to change plays right now. Flores certainly deserves COY IMO. To go from 5-11 to 11-5 with one of the youngest teams in the NFL is impressive by itself. Add in the fact that he went from bottom of the league in scoring defense to #1 in the same period of time is even more impressive. Hope Flores is with Miami for a long time.

Holding on to people too long (Slade, Sanders, et al) got Fulmer fired once, and it might get him fired twice.

Those hoping Campbell, Napier and Chadwell can do this are going to be disappointed when we’re back in the same spot in 3 years wanting that true HOMERUN coach. None of them can compete with/overtake Mullen and Smart. Might as well reserve your 3rd place in line.
Campbell is a 10x better coach than Kirby smart ever thought about being. I think he’s significantly better than Mullen as well.

Fulmer believes in 3 years or less Pruitt will have the program rolling and doesn’t want to start over with a new coach will take 3 years just to be in the same place.

If I were in Randy Boyd's position, I would disagree with Fulmer's assessment, but recognize his right to express it to me.

However until I made a decision, I would view any public statements or posturing which reflected his opinion and not the University's as insubordination. The same would be true of lobbying boosters to pressure me into siding with him.

I consider some of what Phil is doing to be insubordination. That is a line, when crossed, breaks the bonds of trust. Mark my words, Boyd now has to get rid of Fulmer to move forward. Doing that without further damaging UT will be difficult if not impossible. That is why some folks are so mad and why it feels to them that Fulmer is putting himself before the University.

What are the odds he’s on here?
