If the Pruitt/Ty Simpson narrative has any truth, then Simpson should go ahead and commit to UT and try to get some other guys to join him to help Pruitt's 'case'. Him saying he wants to play for Pruitt should encourage him to commit, not wait any longer. That is unless it's not really the case and is just Pruitt trying to keep his job.

Did I ever say I was settling for 3-7? No. So that wouldn’t be a loser’s mentality now would it. I’ve cut my financial support (albeit a drop in the ocean) entirely until this university and AD prove they are willing to compete with the top echelons again. Those that are ok with 3rd place because it’s “better than what we have”... enjoy the ride. That’s your prerogative so seriously, have fun with that.

Ty will probably change his mind and pick Clemson on signing day after we stick with Pruitt. Dumb dumb reason that should have no bearing on the decision for this coach.

There is absolutely no reason to retain Pruitt based on uncommitted players that may or may not come to UT, no matter what their star rating is.

It varies case by case. For example with Saban I believe they owe him something crazy like $50 million if he’s fired but he can walk for another job and he owes Bama $0.

I’d guess if Freeze left for another HC job he’d likely owe them a couple million. But it could be more. Could also be less.

All it takes is one team to give him a shot. Those other teams could just be... Ya know... Wrong. Or found a coach that makes sense for them. Good for them. Maybe Shane Beamer is the answer.

I honestly don't care what other teams do. Freeze makes sense for Tennessee in my opinion.
