A complete list of Jeremy Pruitt losses by one score

You might be right. Though I said the same thing about our team against Appy State in 2016, a game where we were thoroughly outplayed and should have lost. But yeah, GA State was way worse.

We won that game and App State finished with 10 wins that season. Georgia State lost to Western Michigan by 47 and App State by 30 points the year they beat UT, not even close to the same thing

And both contribute to them staying in the field. Pretending that the offensive woes are the only thing wrong with our guru-lead defense is just flat out incorrect.
And I never pretended the offense was the only thing wrong, I simply said it was the main contributing factor. You're reading something I didn't write...but carry on arguing with yourself.

2018 Missouri
2018 Vanderbilt
2019 Florida
2019 Georgia
2019 Alabama

They were all closer than the score indicated tho.

Step 1. Recognize you need a good QB. This may still be where Pruitt is. He never brought in a QB capable of starting, and we lost a lot of winnable games the past 3 years.

Meanwhile, he's cashed around 13 million in checks from UT while staying there in that place where he started. Worst investment in SEC football history.

Yeah not really. It’s probably more true that the games weren’t as close as the score indicated since we often would get some garbage points against their reserves. Reference Florida this year.

Let's be honest, we ALL knew Pruitt wasn't the guy when he lost to GA State at Neyland in year two. We just didn't want to say it out loud because it was too soon, but we were thinking it!
I knew Pruitt wasn't the guy before he even coached a game. Him coaching Bama through the playoffs has always left a bad taste in my mouth. He only ever viewed UT as a stepping stone to "bigger and better" things.

Remember guys! 90% of the game we are holding! Or have a lead. It's that 10% that is the WORST EVER!!! I.E. florida 1st down 2 yard run. 2nd down 15 yard SACK!! 3rd and 13, 🤦‍♂️ 20 yard completion, over! And over and over. Orrrrr? 3rd and 13, incomplete pass! 4th down!!!!!.......🤦‍♂️ Vol defender slap to the QB's face, 15 yards AUTOMATIC! FIRST DOWN!🙄🙄

Yeah that certainly plays a factor.

But it's mostly the guys not being coached well. And it really shows when the talent is equal to or better than UTs, how badly coached top to bottom the team is.

Pruitt is going into his fourth season with more excuses than wins. Fire this guy!

I think we’re being too hard on Pruitt. Let’s look at who should be to blame:

Year 1:
80% - Butch Jones
10% - Refs
5% - SEC office
4% - Pruitt
1% - Dooley

Year 2:
75% - Butch
10% - Refs
10% - JG
5% - SEC office
(Pruitt gets no blame because of the 6 game winning streak to end the season!)

Year 3:
50% - Butch
100% - JG (included in this is how he demoralized the D, so they played poorly)
100% - Covid
50% - DL Coach
10% - Pruitt (for hiring DL coach)
15% - Refs and SEC
5% - Announcers hate UT

So, scientifically, Pruitt is only responsible for 14% of the losses over the last three years, so he’s really only lost 3 games. And, with covid, JG, and the DL coach gone next season, our floor is easily12-2. We should probably lock him in now with another extension and raise.

Dooley would coach circles around Pruitt.

Dooley should have stayed out of college football. It requires wearing too many hats for his skill set. He’s pretty good at coaching an offense and at least at the positional level pretty good at developing players. Of the Dooley/ Pruitt/ Butch trifecta he’s the only one who could even get close to handling an NFL team
