People were pounding the table that we were going to pound Florida last year and this year (as well as guaranteeing beating bama ) because of how well our roster seemed to be....
So i think if Mullen was our coach we are pretty much guaranteed better QB play from someone.
I don’t think it’s out of the question.
How? Why? Is 3 wins okay in year 3? What excuses are remotely valid for being okay with keeping failure for another year that makes no sense
With the “summer incident”, could it be that the admin doesn’t want the ncaa snooping so the next coach has to be cleaner than Freeze/Kiffin? Sounds like Pruitt has been lax in his recruiting. Brice says that Pruitt brushed A LOT of stuff under the rug.![]()
Jesus Christ at this ish again! Some of our fans will excuse the death of Christ himself for Pruitt this is getting ridiculous!COVID.
We the Internet heros get on here and talk and talk. Eventually, we convince ourselves that something is true that really isn't true. We believe it, because everyone keeps repeating it. However, in this case, Tennessee was really hit hard by COVID, on many levels. It wasn't an even playing field. While Tennessee was sidelined, other teams were practicing. Also, Tennessee desperately needed the practice time, because we had a lot of young guys that we needed on the field. Not all teams were in that situation.
Now, would Tennessee have been more competitive if COVID had not have happened. Maybe not, but we won't ever know the answer to that. All we can do is either make a jump to a top-notch coach, while we still have talented players on the team, or hope that Pruitt can turn things around, given another year to get it right.
I am OK with either approach, but it is not time to run down the street in desperation. Could it work out badly if we give him another year? Sure, but it could also work out badly, and we lose another 3 - 5 years, if we go running out and hire another Butch Jones/Derek Dooley too.
Pruitt has been around some pretty shady programs that seem to bend the rules of recruiting on a regular basis. I would think he knows how to recruit and keep the NCAA from sniffing around. If not, shame on him or whoever stepped over the line.UT does not want NCAA scrutiny. And going to war with Sankey isn't on the wish list, either.
And right now, UT doesn't have an HC opening.
