Absolutely not. People who played this game at the highest level say this is one of the worst coaches Tennessee teams they have ever seen. I do not want him back at all.I actually hope Pruitt is back next year. I like the guy, especially in previous years when he was so fiery on the sideline and showed how much he cared for the team in post game press conferences. He’s someone I’d have enjoyed playing for.
We are just going to **** up the next hire anyways. I really hope he makes the appropriate changes and continues to develop as a HC. I think pulling the trigger on a guy every 3-4 years has made this job toxic in the minds of football coaches across the country. Would love to see some stability for once.
I mean, we know the stories. But why didn’t he stick with any of those programs? you have to admit thats odd. Once you get to be a coordinator at the top level especially if you’re successful... why bounce around for other DC jobs?
Something was off the whole time and it’s probably the biggest red flag before he was hired and it’s more apparent now... people can’t stand to work around the guy.
I think our AD loves that we are not making any moves right now - they would be in panic mode and getting scrutinized.
They are sitting back and enjoying watching everyone else scramble.

That's always nice, but look at the route to get there. If, for example, we could play an ACC schedule instead of an SEC one we would appear better in the short-term...then that would build into us legit being better long-term.I understand the thought process but I'm tired of thinking like that. What we need is a strong Tennessee. Won't matter how good other teams are or aren't when we are a good football team.
First jump was for a promotion...from DB’s to DC. Begs to question what made him jump to UGA after only one season, cept maybe he wanted to get back into the SEC. Now we’re aware of the rumors about UGA, but for all that it took Richt getting fired for him to depart. Truth isn’t as apparent as we pretend. He’s an intense and self admittedly “hard headed” person which can cause drama. Just don’t know how much “people can’t stand him” applies when they keep hiring him and/or sign up to work for him.But why didn’t he stick with any of those programs? you have to admit thats odd. Yep. It's pretty amazing that he had a better record against Alabama than he did Georgia.I would take a win over Alabama anytime now...if Gus could do that. My kids don't know that feeling. I am not necessarily favoring him as coach, but I bet he could beat UK, Vandy, Mizzou, and USCe on a regular basis.
Based on my research, he was 6-1 against UK, Vandy, Mizzou, and USCe combined. He was 2-7 against UGA and 0-1 against UF.

FSU offered him a promotion so he left Alabama to go there. He was never going to pass Kirby in Saban's eyes. He and Jimbo didn't get along, and there are some rumors about some off the field stuff I won't go into.
He gets to UGA because Richt is desperate to save his job and immediately starts campaigning for the HC job behind the scenes. Also some off the field rumors that made him tough to deal with.
The biggest red flag was when Kirby didn't try to keep him around when he took the UGA job. They run the exact same defense and had worked together previously. But Kirby preferred Mel Tucker so Pruitt goes back to Bama.

If it was up to Pruitt, he would still be playing JG. Only switched because our AD and his agent told him he better switch before the fanbase and donors go off the rails. And Ansleys is mediocre.I would love to get a no **** assessment from JP on what went wrong this year. Defense is the biggest head scratcher. Experienced corners and safeties who are playing worse than they ever have. Can’t take away the slant. I bet he regrets not going away from JG earlier, as well.
