Here's the bottom line: Gus is a candidate you can get every decision-maker on board with. He's been successful enough to get the money people behind it, and he's safe enough to get Fulmer and the academic side behind it. Just a reminder: we still have a coach and we're not sure which way we want to go with him. Gus checks all the boxes and makes it worth the $20M to blow Pruitt out.
Freeze is not going to get a call from Auburn and he's not going to get a call from us. Face facts, guys. If Auburn won't touch him, that should tell you all you need to know.
If you want to talk about other candidates, I'm fine to do it, but the Freeze stuff is asinine and never going to happen. There are high dollar candidates like Campbell and Fickell, but the fact they will be so expensive (with no guarantee they will be successful in the SEC like Gus has) leads me to believe Tennessee would choose Malzahn over them. And then there are up and comers like Napier and Chadwell. With Malzahn as an option, we don't have to take a risk on them.
