Here's the bottom line: Gus is a candidate you can get every decision-maker on board with. He's been successful enough to get the money people behind it, and he's safe enough to get Fulmer and the academic side behind it. Just a reminder: we still have a coach and we're not sure which way we want to go with him. Gus checks all the boxes and makes it worth the $20M to blow Pruitt out.

Freeze is not going to get a call from Auburn and he's not going to get a call from us. Face facts, guys. If Auburn won't touch him, that should tell you all you need to know.

If you want to talk about other candidates, I'm fine to do it, but the Freeze stuff is asinine and never going to happen. There are high dollar candidates like Campbell and Fickell, but the fact they will be so expensive (with no guarantee they will be successful in the SEC like Gus has) leads me to believe Tennessee would choose Malzahn over them. And then there are up and comers like Napier and Chadwell. With Malzahn as an option, we don't have to take a risk on them.

auburn is paying gus's buyout...in full, in a one time payment, this month.

that's F U money......
In all fairness, they haven't been paying off ex football and basketball coaches along with AD's for the past 8 years. They have had time to harvest their funds.

Auburn may go after a NFL guy...(Jason Garrett comes to mind)

Who knows, honestly shocked they fired Gus and are eating that buyout especially this season when everything is in the shitter. Why not just wait another season, let Gus get you another top 10 class and limb to 8 wins AGAIN then fire him with a year more off the contract and stuff approaching normal operations again?

Freeze is insanely overrated by this fan base.

Everyone always assumes a school fired their coach to jump on Freeze, when in reality the school doesn’t even give Freeze more than a passing glance.
He’s the best shot we have to win quickly in this league and it’s not even close. The only better shots would be finding a way for a meyer or Peterson type coach.

What part of that is delusional, Kiffin doesn't want to stay at Ole Miss and Auburn has the balls to hire him. The other part of that statement about Fulmer spewing BS, that's how those things work.
It’s not what you said , it’s the way you said it, bud. Sounds like a tin foil hat kinda thing

I really think it would be pretty poetic for Kiffin to come back and win big. Complete the circle!
If Kiffin somehow made it back to UT, as the head coach, he better not touch anything hanging on the walls of the football complex. If he did, that would be grounds for castration with a dull knife
