Tennessee either needs to fire Pruitt or come out and support him.

Those are the two options.

And I don’t think they fire him or they would have already.

So you have to support him like they supported Herman.

Otherwise you really just don’t care and the program will burn.
You can’t support 3 wins in year 3 of a HC tenure it’s just simply not possible, Texas is not in our situation.

Does Pruitt truly want to be here? He's looking around and seeing better coaches than him getting fired. Malzahn probably isn't the last to be fired this year either. He has no real attachment to UT. The exact opposite, actually. I know that "no one wants to fail" but people also realize they're in their over heads and enjoyed life more one rung back on the ladder. And that's especially true when they're in an organization they don't particularly care for.

I would love to believe that but the biggest hole on our team is pass rush and I’m not sure we will be much better if at all in that regard.
Pass rush, lb pass coverage, secondary, TEs, pass pro. People are delusional if they think this same 3 win team wins 9 next year with this staff.

Is the Vandy win actually encouraging folks to that extent? Did people miss how we scored a whopping 7 points before garbage time vs a mediocre UF defense?

We haven’t cared for sometime. We have never, not once, ponied up for the splash hire. Whether it works out or not is a different story but it at minimum shows you are willing to win and care about the program.

That article points out that AU was willing to go the extra mile to achieve their goals. TN has to prove that they will. If there’s a guy they believe could get it done, the time is now.
What gives me hope is the deal with Barnes. UT ponied up in basketball to win. To not do the same in football is criminal.

Can someone give me an update on the odds we're going to have another coaching search? Not what is wanted or needed. Any actual info?
After the A&M game we will hear something one would think, good or bad it will set the precedent for what this University sees itself as a football program

Of are they simply waiting until season is over?

The only reason to believe anything is happening is Feldman's tweet which indicated we were already eyeballing candidates. He's been ahead of local media before and IIRC broken a few of our hires before anyone else. His tweet is the only silver lining that we've at least been looking behind the scenes. No reporter is infallible tho and his source could've been feeding him bs.

Anybody notice the Crouch’s improvement? He was flying around yesterday. It looks like he’s starting to figure out the LB position. He’s always had the athleticism.
Good for him if so, but...

VANDY

And yes our LBs have been just fine vs the run. It's the passing game, merely the foundation of modern football, that Pruitt's LBs have struggled with all 3 years. For a secondary coach, he seems to only worry about stopping the run.

He's the kind of guy that probably still relies on those old 3:30 CBS "stats", such as "the team that rushes for the most yards has won this game 13 of the last 15 years"....yeah no sh** when everyone ran the ball...
