Bailey is our QB

It's not even close. Bailey is head and shoulders above the competition right now. Game #2 as a true Freshman and he's reading the defense well, making good decisions, and he was much more accurate this game, after struggling with a few throws last week. He's not that fast, but he knows exactly when to tuck it and run. And his only turnover was the biggest BS turnover I've ever seen; that was an incomplete pass and anyone who thinks otherwise is blind.

Shrout is better than JG and has the best arm on the team, but he still struggles with reading the defense and making decisions at times. He's definitely improved, though; he's much better than he was last season. But he's still got a way to go. 6/13 for 90 yards with an INT against a below-average SEC defense isn't going to cut it against anyone other than Vandy.

Pisses me off we wasted the Bama, Arkansas, and Auburn game not allowing HB to get on field reps, especially losing all 3 games. Both QBs are better than JG and should have been battling for the starting spot since the Kentucky game.

Adding Salter to the QB room next year may finally allows us to have a chance at the QB position since Dobbs left.

Everyone talking about the deep throw issues, HB connected on them quite a bit in HS. It’s just a timing thing. Hasn’t worked with the REC core enough...
Right, he has overthrown three long balls in the last two weeks so it is not a question of arm strength. You don’t need to have the arm strength of JT to be successful in college or the NFL.

His quiet was probably due to JG. The other receivers are also likely hurt by the same.
I hope you are right. The wide angle replay shots have not shown open receivers often. Better QB play creates a lot of opportunities. Even TEs might run routes now, or even be open over the middle.
I did like Bailey buying valuable time by being just slightly elusive.

Sliding in the pocket is natural for good Qb’s , something JG never had.

He's being coached by Chris Weinke, so expect him to look the same at the end of next season, as he does right now.

Agree. I have one major concern of Bailey.
The Coaches he will be playing for.
A good HC and OC and he will be very good.
The one he is playing for now may keep him from reaching his potential

Having a cannon for an arm isn't a guarantee for success in the NFL (Bray). Being smart would be a superior quality to have for success. The internal clock can be learned and reading defenses and coverages comes with good coaching and film analysis. I'm like everyone else when it comes to JP leaving JG as his starter so long. The two pick sixes and fumbles would have done it or me. Thanks for your efforts, JG! Best of luck in life. We've moved on now!

GO VOLS!!!

Of all the QB’s on our current roster, only 1 has an NFL arm and that’s JT Shrout. Sure he’s made some dumb throws but he’s not had much playing time. He’ll get a shot in the NFL some day and it’s a shame this staff has wasted that talent
Arm strenth is kinda overrated if you can't read the defense unless you play in one of those simplified offenses

Crompton said on the AtoZ sports post game show that we likely won’t keep Bailey and Shrout because Salter is an EE. I wonder which one leaves.

Which is a shame. Just another reason Pruitt should be fired. He doesn’t even know talent when he sees it. Coach Shrout up and he is an NFL QB
I think Shrout should transfer to a program where he can start and also get help outside the college program from a Qb guru who is into training players in similar situations. It’s worth a shot. I think he would get a look from some NFL teams.

HB is going to be the face of the program, he's not going anywhere, and I don't think JT will either. Dude is lucky as can be to even be on an SEC roster considering where he's come from and the short amount of experience he has.

Bailey has missed 3 TDs the last 2 weeks on deep balls when guys are open. He throws the short game well but he isn’t very good throwing down field. Majority of his 7-7 were either behind the line or inside 5 yds of the LOS. But BON has their QB based on his high school career so let’s ride with it.

You have to remember who is responsible for coaching him.
