That's why I used the word "likely". It indicates a possibility but not a guarantee.

And you are right, we don't know what would have happened. But I think we can agree that would have happened would have most likely been better than what did actually happen.

Reality. You can't paint a masterpiece with a box of worn down crayons of all the same color.

I think our offense will have a decent showing. Think we’ll be able to sustain some drives and be able to put up some points. I’m sure Bailey will make some mistakes, but at least he’s a freshman and not a 5th year senior. He’s got time to improve, he’s not expected to tear it up this year.

I don't think it would have been better, not by a single point. This team has struggled at every position group as well as coaching but I don't think it's because of poor coaching. I'm forgiving only because of the circumstances the man was put in. I expect the Vols to play well Saturday and possibly put together a complete game. I like the roster we have coming back and am excited about the play of the young QB Pruitt somehow talked into coming here over Alabama, Florida and Auburn.

So we would have won the other games with him had he played but we're down to just having a good offensive showing with him actually playing? You guys love to have it both ways.

So...let's take Kentucky, since you hid under a rock after that game. It's incredibly unlikely that all four of the QBs on the roster would have thrown two pick sixes in that game. So if we had played a more mobile QB, in Maurer, or a gunslinger in JTS or the Frosh who obliterated competition in his Senior Year in HS, you don't think TN would've scored more than the one TD? You don't think KY would have scored less?

You realize if had we had a good offensive showing in any of auburn, Kentucky, and Arkansas, we would have won right? A good offensive showing isn’t throwing two pick sixes. So stop it with the “you guys love to have it both ways.” Seriously, listen to yourself.

I would bet my house that even the Coaches, and even your former player crush JG would disagree with that. You say stuff to argue, not to discuss.

The guy is a troll. He knows he's wrong but pride is an ugly trait sometimes. It's annoying as he appears to have good knowledge and insight at times, but he just wants to argue. He argued with everyone on the board that JG was a top half SEC caliber QB. Then he disappeared and hid after the KY game. Along with his buddy KTown. He emerged from hiding to proclaim he knew all along that Bailey would take over and JG was just a fill in basically.

Something happened in the locker room at halftime of that game and it turned out it just wasn't our day. I don't believe a different QB would have mattered and I'm not sure any other QB was ready to go in and perform well after the halftime incident.

Two pick sixes happened. And another int that led to a FG. Before halftime. That's what happened.

You can't blame that loss on something unseen in the locker room at half.

Once again, I don't think it would have mattered who played QB that day. It's a stupid debate that you are trying to pick a fight with because it's a woulda shoulda argument.

He's had very little relevant practice time due to COVID. There is bound to be some timing issues with guys he's barely thrown too. The more important aspect of his game is he doesn't make bad decisions with the ball.

With Salter being an EE, that's gonna be big for that Spring battle. It's gonna be something. We've never had a QB room as good as we'll have next year.

I agree 100%. If he learned from that mistake, he'll be better. I just think he will continue to improve with game reps. He has a quicker release, more accuracy and a better arm. Granted, that does not always make the best QB (Jeff George is the prime example), but more often than not, it does. We need to see if his superior tools ultimately make him the best QB. If he doesn't get the PT, we'll never know.
