Even when your not interested it’s good to go through the motions, experience. Not saying he was not selected but just as easily could have said no.

Yes it does, there aren't many of those schools around the country. The SEC happens to have the most where there are probably 7 of them. Alabama was mediocre for years before Saban, it was still a top tier job.

Your point is UT is a top tier job. Meaning someone can win a NC here.

Mine is we are not a top tier team. Meaning we’ve sucked azz for a decade +.

I’m not saying a coach couldn’t win a NC here. But I don’t think UT is viewed as one of the top-tier elite jobs. Not for lack of potential, but bc of the politics behind the scenes.

But I’ve been arguing on our results and you’re arguing on our potential.

We both agree on potential.

The ceiling at FSU is through the roof. Are they a top tier team?

Same at Texas. Are they a top tier team?

Same USC. Are they a top tier team?

I wasn’t speaking to ceilings, I was speaking to what we are now. And have been for a decade with the exception of a couple seasons when we peaked as a medium tier team.

I guess the point I'm making is what does our record right now have to do with our next coach? He wont inherit those wins. All that means is that we might have an opening.

And the answer is yes. Florida St, Texas and USC are all great jobs with huge ceilings.

Nobody thinks we are a current top tier team. If we were we wouldn't be talking about replacing our coach. We suck.
