That would probably be the order of my calls right now. Honestly, I'd probably call Bob Stoops and Chris Petersen just to make sure they're happy in retirement. I'm all for aiming high, even if it's unrealistic.

Not sure how I feel about Art Briles. Don't think Chadwell is there yet, but if everyone else says no....? And maybe Tom Allen or PJ Fleck should be considered. We need to move on from Pruitt.

This. We are so down, but when the next coaching search comes around we need to act like "TENNESSEE". You make a play for the big names albeit quietly, Petersen, Stoops. Then I would go after active longshots:
1. Campbell
2. Fickell
3. Harsin
4. Bronco Mendenhall
5. Tom Allen
6. McElwain

Then on to McGoogles. I know some will argue Napier should not be on this list, but to many casual fans he'd be a McGoogle.
7. Napier
8. Jay Norvell
9. Doc Holiday
10. Chadwell

Now if Gus, Herman , Fuente were fired, I would put Gus in at #3. Herman would be #6. Fuente be #8

He is trolling. He wants it to be miserable here. He is claiming he is realistic, but in reality, he wants to see our reaction on the off chance that we hire somebody like that.

While I dislike John Adams as it relates to the totality of what he has written throughout the years in the KNS...he does have a well written article in todays paper in regard to UT and the “Pruitt bind”

State of TN talent is getting better, fast, but UT still needs to rely on getting OOS state guys to fill a class. He would add a huge pipeline to Fla talent and most importantly, S Fl talent, He has proven he can build a program back up as well. Does well in the PR realm, has developed talent at Oregon, Sewell will be OL 1st rd pick. so he checks 4 boxes off the top. He wants back in the south, so check #5?

The folks looking down on Chadwell and Napier and saying we need to aim higher — I agree we do to start, but how many really home run hires get made in a given year? Saban and Harbaugh (the latter hasn’t worked out but was WIDELY viewed as can’t miss and swinging for the fences) are the exception. Florida, which is a much better program, had to “settle” for “Mehlen.” Before that their previous three coaches had been a) an offensive coordinator; b) a defensive coordinator; c) a G5 head coach whose most impressive win was beating a mediocre Pitt team in the Fiesta Bowl. There just aren’t that many sure things.

I do, it’s about getting the right fit. But, whoever it is, they need full power. I think that is at least part of the problem. Can’t have everyone’s hands in the cookie jar. Think it needs to be a BIG name where everyone knows he has full control and no influence at all from the good ole boys network or administration.

Basically, needs to be a big enough name where you hand them the keys to the kingdom.

Napier turned down Ole Miss and other programs last year. His worst year was his first, 7-7. He beat Georgia State and a top 25 Iowa State. He has a poor man's Dobbs as QB. Just think what he could do at UT.
We need to get back to winning 8-9 games consistently before winning the Ship.

I know it’s a pipe dream but will say it again:

HC: Freeze
OC: Brady
DC: Muschamp/Mason

I’ll even take 2 of the 3.

Not interested in up and comers and flavor of the week anymore. We need to stop F’ing around.

We want to win or we don’t. Period.

NO MORE SETTLING.

I would take Cristobal right now. I thought he would fail at Oregon, but he's proved me wrong.

HC and DC isn’t a pipe dream at all. Freeze would crawl here and both DCs are unemployed.

Joe Brady will be a head coach before taking another OC job. NFL or College
