That would probably be the order of my calls right now. Honestly, I'd probably call Bob Stoops and Chris Petersen just to make sure they're happy in retirement. I'm all for aiming high, even if it's unrealistic.

Not sure how I feel about Art Briles. Don't think Chadwell is there yet, but if everyone else says no....? And maybe Tom Allen or PJ Fleck should be considered. We need to move on from Pruitt.

No no no to Herman! He’s extremely overrated and the ‘Offensive’ version of Pruitt. The guy keeps games close cuz of talent advantage, but loses cuz he’s a terrible coach. Don’t fall for the ‘he never gets blown out’ narrative.

Admittedly, he’s much better than Pruitt - but he will never win any championships. Can’t even win the weak @ss big 12

I would take Art Briles in a heartbeat. He is a winner. He won 10+ games at Baylor 4 times. A school that was equivalent to Vandy in terms of football history.
Media would eat us up, because its UT. Even if the stories are true about him being the fall guy.

Here's the deal. If UT were to hire Art Briles, we'd get all kinds of negative publicity, at first. But if he won here, he'd become a redemption story, a media darling. The MSM eats those kinds of stories up. They would suddenly love us.

Last night AP said 90% chance he’s back. And just now Swan Man (who’s been pushing the he’s back 100% no matter what narrative forever) said...
“Well, after some intel today, I would agree with Austin......... but it’s not as open and shut that he will be back as I once was told. TN and the big guy doesn’t want a public coaching search—- if a change is made, a target has already been zeroed in”
