I think you can judge level of caring based on who's on the short list at this point in time, because that could dictate IF they even make a move or not. Which I honestly believe they should.

To me it’s really not who the first candidate or whoever it is...but how swiftly and efficiently the search goes. Ideally there shouldn’t be a “search”. That should be going on now.

All you’re doing once Pruitt is fired is figuring out what to do about your future coaches current staff and who he will bring with him.

This is your best post. It’s amazing how people act like it will take a miracle to make a bowl game here. Such a slap in the face to the greats that built this thing and all the fans funneling money into it.

I will keep agreeing with this. There is no reason the right guy cant win 8 a year here by year 2. Maybe 7 if we play a goon in OOC.

Again, I wish the conversation came down to "who has beaten Saban?" There are three names - Meyer, Sweeney, and Freeze. Sweeney ain't leaving. If Texas can't throw enough money at him to make it happen, and I doubt we will either.

That leaves Freeze.

And it seems like we're too puritan to hire Freeze and/or our AD has a 15 year old grudge he can't get over.

The kids mother refused to press charges. They should take the kid and put him in a foster home until she comes to her senses. I would think the state could step in and press charges.

I’m pissed that we are using this game for what seems like a measuring stick for coach retention.

It’s hilarious looking back over the last decade and recollecting fans’ beliefs that Dooley and Butch were in fact the lowest UT football could go. I’ll go on record unabashedly and state that Pruitt is the worst coach in UT football history.

Oh. I thought you were talking about Fickell. I mean, Meyer won't come here if he turned down Texas. I'm just using him as an illustration. Why aren't we kicking the tires there like Texas did? We need to start believing in our program again

In a normal year, those extra practices are in December leading up to bowl season. Unless they move the bowl schedules to later dates, I don't see where the extra practices fit.
