Hiring Freeze has to be within the next month or two. TN will lose way more money by keeping this Dumb Azz Gump for another year. Ticket sales, etc. Plus the 2022 TN in state class is loaded. Cornbread has to go NOW. It’s so F’n simple.

Freeze would get us a top 10 class from instate alone next year. EASY MOVE

Don’t know why everyone is thinking UT will hire a big name
Prepare yourself for the guy coaching high school ball in Montana
It’s the Tennessee way
The last three searches should tell you that and fulmer is no different
Brace yourselves if Pruitt is fired
Fulmers ego is too big

Hope I’m wrong but I’m scared if Pruitt is fired
I’m torn on what to do

As bad as it is now, do you really want to hire an up and comer coach and turn around and fire him 3-4 years later? There's not a Rick Barnes waiting to fall in UT's lap right now.
Our current head coach is an absolute, 100% loser and not the solution at head coach. There is no promise that the next HC flops. But there is certainty that JP ain’t doing **** at UT.

The only lesson that should be learned from the Barnes hire is it pays to fire a coach as soon as possible. Tyndall was a joke.

It’s crazy that some of more afraid of the unknown of another coach/search vs what could happen next year if Pruitt is our head coach again.
I think many are worried we make a change and go through the same rollercoaster all over again. BVS, over and over.

I'm thrilled we have Coach Barnes, but let's keep in mind that when we hired him, he had just been fired for under-performing expectations and there was a lot of concern that he wouldn't still have the amount of fire left that he now obviously does. My point is, when we hired him, it wasn't a slam dunk.

Pearl was an "up and comer" when we hired him. He had built programs and sustained success and had recruited at the highest levels but he was still not a "sure thing."

I agree with you that there aren't any sure things. Even Meyer or Bob Stoops could possibly fail. But there are several folks we could kick the tires with who have done exactly what Pearl had done: built programs, sustained success and recruited with the big boys. Pruitt has only done one of the three. Cuonzo had only really done one of the three. Same with Butch and Dooley (if we're being generous).

I'm applying for the next HC position.

Some of my highlights:

1. I'll run dime formation 100% of the time, even on goalline stands.

2. I'd hire a run and gun coach.

3. I'd pay every 5* recruit in the nation with all my yearly earnings except a meager 100k that I'll keep for myself.

4. With the increased talent, I'd eventually hire a good DC.
