"Ergen won't pony up money from what I hear. Haslam might, as long as he gets lots of influence on potential hires.. Haslams have always been willing, others not so much..

But someone said University has money to lend the AD. Not sure if that means money to help with losses or money to help with buyouts or both.."

@LA Vol 👀😅 thoughts🤔

LWS is as good as it gets so I roll with him.

However, I don't think this is anything new to anyone paying attention. There are different levels of "crazy" money. We've got a few of those people as boosters, but only one man has been willing to actually spend it - Big Jim. His judgement is just usually really bad given he played football in the 50's here.

Also, it's not uncommon for the athletic department to borrow money from the University - it's just uncommon here because football usually makes so much money every year.

@LA Vol Sheesh...hard times or what🤯👀

Whatever it takes, just win.

Haven't listened to the pod, but according to some folks on Twitter, VQ seems to be pivoting to the fact that Pruitt is going to be allowed to make any change he wants of his assistant coaches and he'll be back next year.
Bigger buyouts to pay a year from now.

So he completely revampes the staff for 1 year, then what when the new coaches decide to leave. Of the 3 coaches that have been here from the beginning of the putrid error, I mean Pruitt era, only Neids is worth hanging onto, and that's only for recruiting.

Yeah I love the thought process.

Can't fire JP because of money. But nobody has confidence in him and there are enormous red flags which have been present since day 1.

But also are going to let him hire a 3rd round of 5-6+ assistants which will equal the cost to fire him plus drive this fanbase further into anger/dispair

I guess this is peanuts but one other added cost for the AD this year and next is added scholarship $ to the budget.
I’d estimate that at an extra 1mil with the ncaa allowing schools to Have over and beyond normal scholarship limits in all sports

Keep in mind that’s more money to be paid to the university itself

I also dislike ND..................But win or lose vs Clemson...............they deserve a playoff opportunity over OSU!
Gotta win the games you play. If tOSU does, they DESERVE it over a one loss Notre Dame and DEFINITELY over a two loss Clemson.

Larry has been around since Grid days. Dude used to post on the .25 before it was .25. Was always at the VQ cookout events. Not sure how involved he is anymore.

Don’t know how “involved” he is either, but he knows people, even if those people are on the periphery of the program now.

And he’s shown pretty good judgement of how and when things are going to happen.

If Jeremy is back I am going to find something else to do with my time next season. Looks like my golf and travel budgets are going to have to be increased. I'll use the tickets savings I've had for the past 5 years. Can always watch the replays if they do something good, which will probably not be often.

What a year. I would sucker punch 2020 if it was a person.

Wasnt he a VQ mod for a bit? He used to lurk here too.
