I think there are certain coaches you call even if they are pipe dreams just to hear them tell you no.

You also do that so you can get them a big raise at their current position

Hes from TN. Hes young a dynamic. Has built Louisana into a top 25 team. Is 27-11 as a HC. His OC should he bring him was at UGA in 2015 where they averaged nearly 400 yards a game. He has experience coaching at a power 5 with stints at Clemons and Alabama. He actually wants to be at TN, unlike someone who just wants to use us to go back home. Hes not Pruitt

Perfect summary. the fact that he’s proven himself (IMO) as a head coach at a meh program gives me a lot of confidence.

I also know for damn sure he’s better than what we got...then again most posters on this board would do as well or better than Pruitt

Napier has experience at two separate power 5. Would have better contacts with other coaches, since he has been at 3 power fives. The waters at a school like TN are a lot deeper than at CC. Imo Napier is more experienced to handle the media, boosters, admin, and players attitudes then Chadwell.

If it’s announced that Pruitt isn’t coming back next season, this board will suddenly become much more picky about his acceptable replacements.

Change my mind.

There isn't consensus, I'm picky right now. I don't think Pruitt is capable, but I also don't believe there is a realistic candidate out there that is, at least one that doesn't come with extreme baggage that could bring liability issues.

The phrasing of it is interesting. He has a significant announcement related to the conference - it doesn't specifically say related to the football or basketball season. Could be reading too much into it though.

I like Napier better due to the P5 experience. Chadwell isn't on my list due to that.

I’m sad to say but I don’t think Phil would hire anyone that could possibly become a bigger legend than him. He’s like Jerry Jones. Hire people you can control or perceive to be less than you.

Supposedly Rhule has some enormous buyout with the Panthers, like $40 million or so. I haven't been able to confirm that with some superficial googling..

That shouldn't be a problem for UT. People have been saying we have that kind of money just laying around for the right coach. I say just give it all away to anyone who wants it, kinda like a stimulus check

You guys remember how many guys turned us down and how desperate we were after Butch? Look at us now. We have Napier, Freeze, Chadwell among others that would literally love to be here and would gladly take the job ASAP. I CANNOT BELIEVE how simple this would be. It's ALL RIGHT THERE!!! Pruitt is a dead man walking, and imo you'd be a fool to think otherwise.
