Guys, they will literally have to " throw the game" to lose to Vandy.

Everyone is acting like Vandy is a guaranteed win. It isn't, and hasn't been for a while.

They gave Texas A&M a hell of a game and also scored 35 points on Kentucky and gave them a bit of a scare.

Not saying they'll beat us, but they could give us a very tight, close game that could go either way. Vandy tends to show up when they play Tennessee. Just look our record against them over the past few years.

just curious when we beat Vandy will the team and some fans be like

"YES WE ARE AWESOME - TN IS BACK - NUMBER 1 - KEEP PRUITT!"

a win against vandy especially this year can't even be considered a victory

If Tennessee wins against a winless, depleted, coachless team, Jeremy Pruitt will treat it like Florida '98.

The Vols will likely win by a “good margin”.
The offense will click
The defense will play sideline to sideline
Pruitt will smile again
Getting a Win 24-17 or so.
Post game:

“We finally played a complete game. We played focused and fast. We had a good week at practice.
Our guys really put in the work to win this one”.

Another thing, I guess we will find out how much of a "players coach" Pruitt is this weekend? Would almost have to try to lose this weekend.
I've been wondering about that as well. Whatever happened behind closed doors during/after the Georgia game has affected this team tremendously.

The thought has crossed my mind that the players may like being at the University of Tennessee, but they no longer enjoy playing for CJP. Which raises the question: If a professional team can tank for a top draft pick, can a college team tank in order to get a coach or coaches fired?

It’s their super bowl they’ll always play their best ball against Tennessee. If Tennessee continues to play poorly they’ll get beat badly.

I'm really split on even watching this game - I've watched some BAD football this year, but this one might take the cake.
IF we win, I damned sure don't want to see Pruitt come out and say "we've turned the corner, we're on the right track, we're the team of the future...".

I want him to come out and say "we won a game we are supposed to win every year and we have a lot of work to do."

Goes without saying, if we lose I hope he isn't even allowed to make it to the presser.

If Pruitt’s job is on the line then I would have to believe Fulmer’s is as well. You don’t provide a raise and contract extension (guaranteed money) mere months before firing someone and expect to survive.

That said, as bad as Tennessee is; I can’t imagine losing to this Vanderbilt team.

There has to be more to it than we all know way to many people talking about it not to have some sort of legs

If beating Vandy determines wether your still our coach, then the powers that be should get out of this conference.
indeed. And maybe they will in fact when we lose to them.

This is quite possibly the worst Vandy team ever. And I don't think we beat them this weekend

No coach should ever save his job here by beating Vandy. It's ridiculous.[/QUOTE
Amen to that. What the hell kind of bozos are running this program if they had a discussion to which the conclusion was, "Okay, so as long as he beats the 0-8 team that just fired their coach, we know everything is on schedule and we keep him"?

He's on his way out regardless. Only question is when it happens. It ain't just that the wheels have fallen off the wagon; the wagon is already off the cliff.

And the cliff is in the midst of an avalanche and a blizzard. On an active volcano.
