Maybe. But Freeze was an OM guy. Born in Oxford and grew up in North Mississippi. I have discussed this with OM people along with a very good friend who had Freeze as a teacher at Briarcrest.
I know he was, but he didn't go to school there. Plus Tennessee especially at that time was a much better brand. If Phil agreed to that arrangement, I bet you Freeze coaches in Knoxville for a little bit.

I actually think Uros will blossom next season when he's the main attraction big. Fulkerson is hard to take off the court as well as Pons. EJ is more polished than Uros and proved why he was brought in, he'll eat up the off the bench minutes for Fulkerson/Pons I think. The real challenge is can Uros earn more time than Olivier.

The question is: is there a legitimate chance that Fulkerson or Anosike would come back next year? Neither are really high level pro prospects.

Just saying that if he had the choice, OM was who he grew up liking. The fact that the Tuohy's had influence over Oher even made it more possible.

I was at that game.. there was a pretty bad call in the visiting end zone just before halftime. This older guy sitting a couple rows in front of me stood up and started screaming at the refs from that point until the band started playing... he set down until the band was finished, and as soon as the refs come out of the tunnel, he was up again screaming at them at the top of his lungs.. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did that day.. I strive to be that petty when I reach his age so the young bucks can sit back and watch how its done.

"Oh I wander, who's gonna fill their shoes?" George Jones

*the passionate fans will be gone and the tik tok crowd will be the only ones at Neyland. I hope the passionate fans are being considered when it comes time to replace Pruitt. It's been a while since we've been thought of.

Here's where I think we are:
Option A; Keep Pruitt with a new OC and OL Coach. Not sure there will be great options. Bobo as OC or promote Osovet may be all you can do. Keep recruiting class intact and maybe snag a couple of transfers.

Option B: Keep Pruitt and Chaney, hire a DC and Fullmer mandates that Pruitt become more of a CEO. Better options here with Mason or Muschamp available. Move on from Neids, Felton and hire Bo Davis as DL coach. Same with recruiting class.

Option C: Move in another direction (PC talk for firing). Hopefully have a guy in place ahead of time and avoid a bad search. Give him the freedom to coach and let the AD be the AD. May lose a chunk of the recruiting class and a few players BUT you may open the door to more transfers.

There is more than one direction you could go in that could help. I'm afraid the first two only puts off the inevitable for one more year.
Why fire Neids?

You got beef with me Rish? You've been calling me out a lot lately.

BTW, I've said no less than 4-5 times in the past month that I was wrong about Mullen. He's still a dork, but I would kill for him to be the coach right now. How many more times do you want me to say that?
Yup. Bass has repented and seen the light. He has a clean slate now

I wish we could see what offense Osovet could put on the field. Our luck would be for him to go somewhere else one day and tear it up.

Simple to answer. A high octane RPO offense without an even mid-octane RPO QB to run it. So the motor is going to sputter and blow smoke. Osovet is for Salter if either stick around long enough to see 2021 as a Vol.

I posted this in Vandy game thread:

What happens if Sarah Fuller kicks a fg and it gets blocked, then we return the blocked kick, she is about to make the tackle and Jeremy Banks clocks her with a legal block? What happens to this feel good story?
Banks gets suspended again.

I'd be surprised if Fulkerson returns for a 6th season. I think he could play in the G-League or maybe overseas. EJ is only in his 4th season playing, so I could see him returning potentially, 2 seasons being groomed by Barnes wouldn't hurt him.

Got 13 on scholarship and Barnes has 2 incoming. 3 Seniors and 2 "pro level" Freshmen, either Barnes doesn't expect a ton of turnover or he's happy to play wait & see.

You don’t have to have a true dual threat QB to have your offense built around RPO’s

How in the hell did he make it through the interview process then? Those traits are something interviewers pick up on right away! Ethics, moral and other things are generally traits that come out after the fact. You’d think that proper vetting and simply talking with him multiple times would have shown Fulmer his true colors?!?
Was Fulmer desperate?
Interesting this past summer I was playing golf with individual who created well known recruiting site. Obviously knew I was a Vol fan with my Tenn golf bag etc. he said" What do you think of your coach?' I said well looks like he has some momentum..think we will make strides forward. Have a coach instead of a cars salesman. " " This individual then went on to tell me some "stories" fr his time in Tallahassee and what consensus was in college community re his skills as a coach/person and I was like.."If they knew, how did our administration not know. I have been in Sr Executive recruiting for over 20 years and this lack of awareness/due diligence is stunning.
