Agree - have seen that here and heard it back at the time. So Phil's job now is to do what's best for the football program and UT sports. Freeze is the best available and would bring excitement, fans and money to the program. So, we are supposed to say it's OK for Phil to allow a petty incident from the past interfere with good judgment for the overall university now? He deserves to be fired on the spot if that is the case. Man up time.
Phil is a CFHOF coach. Ill defer to his knowledge of HF coaches. I bet character is one of the traits he holds highest, and I agree.

The blanket 'ill take a cheater to win' holds no water. Freeze beat Bama, twice. He also lost some stinkers.

Average coach. We need a proven winner. We shouldnt have extended his contract but we did.

We also have a HBC, and no opening so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am glad you guys saw this also. I noticed in watching a game that you hardly saw them helping each other off the ground. Personally, I think when a staff is at odds with each other it effects the attitude of the team. If the staff can't get along and the players see it division occurs, sides are taken which is not health at all overall. With the reports that the staff arguing constantly with each other breeds disunity and division. Not saying you don't have disagreements but we all know its deeper than that with with this staff. The responsibility starts at the top.
It's natural for players to check out when the season goes like it is. Many are going through the motions looking forward to it ending. When a team is losing, they tend to look for others to blame, coaches, position groups. They take sides and then that causes disunity. It was/Is a cluster fudge of a season. A bowl has been mentioned, I wonder just how many players would be excited for that.

His unit is off, his unit is not a unit and they don't take ownership of their own. I never said he didn't have talent. He does. Clearly. But how much of his return had to do with trying to make millions and go into the league? (I don't blame him for wanting that goal) but he does show, on the field or sidelines, that he didn't do it for his team. That's OK. But you're not a leader then. Trey needs to follow. I don't want that on my team for 3rd or higher round talent.
He could have went pro last year and been a first round pick and made millions🤦‍♂️

Has anyone on here been in contact with SweetasSoda? Kind of worried about her, I know she was going through some things but I haven’t even seen her like a post unless I just missed it.. SAS if you’re out there hope you are doing ok..

I saw where see "liked" some things on here a day or so ago. I meant to say something to her but the thread was moving so fast I didn't get the chance.

The JG hate speaks for itself at this point. No reason to keep pouring it on.

He wasn't the answer. I've heard Basilio talk about how he's a great teammate and may actually have a future as a coach someday.

He gave as much as he had to this program. I will personally be rooting for him.

This has been my thought all along as well. The guy didn't have the ability to play at this level; however, he does appear to be a great person and could very well be someone who has a future in coaching. Seems he understands what to do, but he cannot process at the speed needed. I would suggest sticking around next year as a GA to see if coaching is in his future.

He gave up his body for this program, and I respect that. He loves this university and has taken a lot of heat. I will be rooting for him as well.

And you never know....irony would be if he is an incredible coach and comes to UT as our next, great coach.

I revert to the games Bitch gave away to UG, UF, OK, and others more than his couple of big wins.
Face it, we beat UG in 2016 out of shear luck. Not often to Hail Marys win games. The year we beat UF, they were very down, but how many games did Jones flat out blow by being a bad HC?

I agree that players tend to check out but the coaching division has been going on all year. That has to affect players when you see leadership constantly at odds with one another and players have their favorite coach so they side with them and on and on it goes and I believe we see that on the field. Just don't see much team unity.

no more medi ****ing ocrity. if you want to catch a big tuna you drive your ass to OBX in summer, and fish with the big boys. Then work North.

We could Lamecock it, and go after a coordinator no ones ever heard of or, we could pay the money I know we have, and make Matt Campbell say no. This is TN, its a proven winner. No excuses.

Yeah, it was a perfect storm for them. They had a top 3 SEC coach in the history of the conference and maybe 4 of the best 5 players in school history all at once. They also had maybe their best QB in school history and still won nothing. Clemson also wasn't a juggernaut at the time.

That's a difficult job...way more difficult than Tennessee.

They also don't have quite as high of expectations as us, but they also don't tolerate extended periods of 6-6 or worse. They aren't Vandy.
bbbbut we play Bama.

no excuses, just win. Is it Pruitt or is it someone else? I truly dgas. Just win.

100% correct

With that, because he's the player we've built around. In his senior year, when this team is looking for a leader, people assume that to be him, including me... and he's not being that leader, fair or not...
We don't know he's not. None of us are in practice or in the locker room.

Damn, cmon guys focus the vitriol. Trey is a VFL who is an absolute monster. He came back from blood clots and returned when he didn’t have to.

This is all coaching. Pruitt sucks and Friend might be even worse
If you can't help your QB up from a sack, that's not on coaching. You suck as a teammate. Coaches are getting plenty of blame for this season. This isn't on coaching. Periodt

“Ight, split up into two’s, we are going to work on picking up our teammate, ight?”

“You put out your arm in a straight line, you bend those knees to create a firm base, give a little front knee bend, say, “lemme help ya up G”

Next play.

I’m also off, and faded. Wake n Bake
