I’m probably alone in this, but this is nowhere near the worst team in Tennessee history or even the last decade. We have short memories on how bad the last Dooley and Jones teams were.

Yes, I know about the double digit loss streak, but how many of those points came as direct result of one players (JG) mistakes and poor play?

This team is not great by any means and the coaching has been bad (really bad at times), but if another QB plays the bulk of the year this is a 6-7 win team IMO. And I think this team beats Dooley or Jones’ final teams by 2 TD’s.
Can barely score 2 tds

I’ve posted this once before, but I simply cannot fathom the fact that some of you want to oust Fulmer if it means hiring Hugh Freeze - just because you’ve bought a Jimmy Sexton special that he really cares about this job.

I know who cares about UT football. It’s the guy sitting in the AD chair. And I know if Fulmer is out, some pencil pushing, number crunching lifetime administrator will come in and cut the football support staff budget first thing. The only reason we got any of that done is because Fulmer has the cache to do it.
The problem I have and I believe a lot of other people have with Fulmer is that he wants power running football.

I love running the ball. Hell I was a running back and would have played for a minor college had I not broken my foot my senior season but this bullsh*t non creative gonna cram the ball down your throat on first and second down throw on third and punt on fourth has got to go.

Everyone here wants an Alabama offense power with a big passing game and it is obvious as hell Pruitt doesn't want that and Fulmer is still living in the 90's.

We want to enjoy what we are watching and run run pass punt isn't tickling our fancy!

Fulmer has been working on contracts for some coaches that are expiring. Tells you all you need to know about JP returning IMO.
Agree with Hubbs at this point.. Bass should get his wish on weinke....jay planning on staying and as of now friend may be back however there have been some flare ups between him and JP lately but we will see how that shakes out.

More to come on the assistant side...certainly think Chaney is in play as well.

I’m honestly flabbergasted we aren’t giving up 60 points a game, guys are still playing hard, and some high profile recruits are rock solid. I don’t know what to make of it. Pruitt must really garner a lot of respect from kids.

He’s just the opposite of a leader, uncouth and prickly to his peers with no tact. God help us though if he ever learns how to manage QBs and score points. He might make something of himself.

Vandy going to kick our ass on Saturday
Fuller lines up from the 20 yard line, Vandy down by 2. The snap, the hold, the kick is good. Sarah Fuller ladies and gentleman has just made history becoming the first female kicker to kick a game winning field goal and against Vandy's in state rival as well.

and locks up the Heisman with that performance.

So they are going to spend all of this money to hire new coaches who will all want a 2 year deal minimum. Pruitt will fail again next year and we are in the exact same position.

Sorry for the way I phrased it, my point is that colleges hire high school coaches all the time if they deliver on a high profile recruit. Coach Fulmer is 100% Tennessee and he hit on a lot of recruits but also missed on his share. If he fires Pruitt there’s no reason to at least not interview Freeze & see if there’s a possible go & if not then so be it

Yea, but Fulmer knows so much more that an interview is just window dressing. There is a rule now about hiring coaches and being able to get their recruits.

My point all along is that any issue that Fulmer has with Freeze is much more than what happened at OM 5 years ago. Fulmer had relationships with high school coaches including Freeze and then coached against him after Freeze took a lower level job at OM. Fulmer knows more than any of us combined.
