I think that's where a lot of us are messing up. A head coach needs to surround himself with people he can work with 1st, then worry about recruiting. The staff continuity should be able to work the recruiting aspect of it out. We've had good ball players, we've not had good coaching staffs.Dabo wasn't at one time though. He was just a WR coach for a middling ACC team, but he was a good recruiter which it seems like the route South Carolina and Arkansas are now trying. Im not saying Chadwell would or should bring everyone, but all these guys have to start somewhere. Venables was just a LB coach back at K St before he became a DC at OU.
I totally agree, but is Tennessee in a position to take a chance the way Clemson did with Dabo? I say no, but maybe I’m wrong.Dabo wasn't at one time though. And he'd lose to Florida in his firstImagine a Tee Martin “national championship winning QB gets the job he’s always wanted” montage with the entire 1998 team at the press conference.
That’d be this x100000
That’s not correct. Moglia coached them in the first year of their transition, took a year off for their first year in FBS and Chadwell was the interim, then Moglia came back in 2018.Moglia retired the year before they went FBS. Chadwell is their only FBS coach they've had.
Absolutely no. It would be a dumber hire than Pruitt. We have to quit rolling the dice on unproven, inexperienced coaches.Nooooooooo
