No one on Clemson's staff was a star except Venables. Elliott came from Furman, Conn from Grayson High school, Lemanski Hall from Ensworth, Todd Bates from Jax St. The WR coach was a grad assistant last season. Streeter came from Richmond, Reed was at NC ST.

The main difference though is that Dabo is a star and by all accounts a dynamic recruiter....plus, there IS Venables.

Chadwell obviously ain’t Dabo and none of his assistants are Venables.

I didn’t know a single coach outside of Fulmer when I was growing up in the 90’s. All I knew is we were winning and it was fun.
The truth is, the majority of us don’t know 💩 about coaching and recruiting. These coaches all across the country DO, and know what works for them and who they work best with.

Dabo wasn't at one time though. He was just a WR coach for a middling ACC team, but he was a good recruiter which it seems like the route South Carolina and Arkansas are now trying. Im not saying Chadwell would or should bring everyone, but all these guys have to start somewhere. Venables was just a LB coach back at K St before he became a DC at OU.

Leondard Little- D Line
Al Wilson- Linebackers
Terry Fair- DB
Steve Matthews- O line
Ainge- QB
Steele- DC
Sanders- OC
Witten- TE
Some random guy- Special Teams

Yep I just wished they’d stop sitting on their high horse acting like we’ve never done anything to get recruits & give Freeze a chance. It can’t be any worse than it’s been over the last 15 years for the exception of a couple decent years from Butch
