That's what any competent AD would do. He either has made up his mind and he's keeping him come hell or high water or he's contingency planning in the background.

Like Kingston says, he probably doesn't have the support ($$$) to do it now. Maybe another loss and a loss to Vandy pushes money people over the edge. Maybe Pruitt wants out, he seems miserable and he may be willing to negotiate the buyout down a bit as his brand is getting tarnished with each pathetic performance. Remember he's a defensive guru and this(his) defense sucks. If he ever wants to be a head coach again, he may want to stop the bleeding.

I think Fulmer has either dug in his heels and plans to bring him back or he's working back channels to see who he can get. If it looks like he can land a good coach, he may be able to sell that to the $$$$ people. If he can't line up someone or if the $$$$ people aren't impressed enough to pony up, he'll just ride with him another year.
With Fulmer’s history, the smart money is on digging his heels in.

“Torn labrum” Shrout is our best QB. Wow

Wasn’t a new labral tear. Was a tear of some scar tissue. Hurts just as bad initially, but doesn’t change throwing motion the way a new labral tear would. Overall, the scar tissue tear will ultimately improve his range of motion and throwing me hanics. May have been hampering him previously...

Do we have any teeth left to get kicked in?

This Florida team can’t run, defense is not very good, this is not a recipe to beat Alabama. I think it will be bad.

As much as I dislike bama, I hope that they ruin the florida hype train. 63-3 type score with 3 pick sixes. Awful offensive performance that is totally embarrassing for the entire gator nation 😈

Yeah, I think there's a strong argument to be made that Malzahn is simply Freeze with no scandal and more years of head coaching experience (and thus more losses/down seasons that Freeze inevitably would have experienced).
If that's the case, why is he on the hot seat? If he's an offensive genius, something else is badly wrong with Auburn that the head coach can't fix.

He's on the hot seat because Auburn is ready to move on. Almost every SEC head coach eventually gets fired.

My fan apathy has reached all time highs. I “watched” the game while painting a couple of rooms for the wife. Saw we lost. Didn’t affect me one bit. I used to be devastated at losses. Not anymore. The apathy won’t change with a good recruiting class either. It’s new coach or bust at this point.

Pruitts demeanor at his presser was odd to me. If what @Kingston Vol said is true, it’s either he knows they CANT fire him or he is actually hoping they DO fire him. Extremely pompous and arrogant with no tact. I teach people how to communicate for a living. I’d be willing to coach him for a fair price.

Who’s calling offensive plays in garbage time? Against Ark HB moved the team into scoring position twice. Against Aub, he was 7/8 for 80-plus yds. Last night Shrout drove us down for two TDs. And I know the other teams are adjusting their defenses at that point, but our play calling looks so much different.

Riding with Pruitt another year makes it that much more difficult to find a decent head coach, though. We will be begging for a Napier or Chadwell after Pruitt torches the place and pisses on the ashes. It will be a full 4-5 year rebuild after a terrible 2021 season.
Can't disagree with that. Also, I said "competent AD". Is Phillip a competent AD?

Not so much play calling as just taking what the defense gives you. Florida was playing soft and letting us move the ball to burn clock. It was nice to see Shrout and he did exactly what he should in that situation but I wouldn’t put too much stock in any QB playing at that point in games. If HB stays in he likely goes over 200-220 passing yard range and leads us to another score.

Its where Chaney excells and why Pruitt is a dumbass. Think back to our 10-12 offense with Bray. Chaney is a spread guy and likes to push the ball vertical. Pruitt wants to play low and slow and in a box. Our offense looks better because our OC knows how to call it.

He’s just an Pompous ass that’s frustrated. Nothing more

I agree he is. But my goodness, at his level of visibility as a D1, SEC head football coach, he’s got to present himself better. It’s one thing to blast the media if you’re defending your team or fired up after a loss. But to act like he just called the perfect game and the idiots on the field screwed it up is asinine.

If this is true, it shows that Kentucky is trying to improve
Poor stoops. Maybe he’s happy at UK but man he’s missing his window to get a really good job. He’s a good coach but the longer he stays at UK the more he ruins his shot at going to a bigger program.

I bet Phillip didn’t like them showing his picture during the game. Appeared to be a lonely man at this juncture!
