It’s pretty interesting to see there’s a large contingent of folks who would take Freeze but wouldn’t take Malzahn.
I want Freeze something awful, but if Auburn lands him I seriously don’t see him taking them much higher than Gus has. At least not while Saban is around.

I don’t think Auburn is going to fire Gus, apparently it really makes sense on the buyout for them to wait a year. Maybe they have the hots for Napier or something?

But that’s an easy decision if you’re Fulmer. Gus + Steele, keep Tee and Graham, try to get Rodney Garner back. Let’s go.

Gus is ass.
He isn’t **** without Auburn bagmen money, you think he can recruit here.....with our cheap ass bagmen, doubt it. Next.

Gus may need to just "reset his clock" as Ziti used to say. I don't think he's a grand slam hire but he could give us 5-6 years of stability and a strong showing in the East before we inevitably fire him, lol. But the program would be in decent shape and I don't think there's any chance he would torch it or let it wither on his way out. At worst we would likely fire him after a 7-5 season or something and a well-stocked roster.

That's the thing about coaching hires. Look around the SEC. Unless you're Saban, you're getting fired. It's just a matter of time.

I was hoping HB would really shine. He played pretty good but I wished he would have hit one or two of his long balls. Yes the game was over when Shrout came in but the team seemed to perk up once he came in and that TD pass was a thing of beauty no matter the circumstances.
Regardless there should no longer be a reason to trot JG on to the field..

Do you want the Oc?

Rodney Garner and his briefcase (mobile cabin)

I feel like if we were to fire Pruitt it would be today, I think that The timing of Early Signing Day could play a factor in when Pruitt is fired since most recruits sign during ESD nowadays.

it was his first true opportunity to show himself. Florida’s defense is bad but Grantham had them moving and shifting a lot early on to try and trick bailey. Later in the game they went really conservative and started playing a soft shell but all in all i thought he looked like he belonged which is all you can ask for. Especially in this crap scheme we call offense right now.

He didn’t get terribly fooled and make bad mistakes, he moved well in the pocket, he picked up yards with his legs, he showed touch on his passes... etc. I’m not really sure what else you could ask for
I agree with this. I was pleased with how Bailey looked despite the attempt at a lot of confusion and conservative play calling. I kept yelling at the bar "HE'S A PEACOCK. YOU GOTTA LET HIM FLY"

I thought he was poised, I thought he had some nerves at the beginning but he's a freshman who had bench work all season and that should not have been the case. I don't think Pruitt gives HB the best chance to be successful. That's a complete indictment on Pruitt, not HB.

I am trying my best not to get where I despise CP but his attitude and smart butt way he answers I am losing that battle.
He is pretty arrogant and pig headed. He's like a bull in a china store and I believe that attitude is wearing thin on his staff as well as some players. I've never seen a Tennessee defense play as badly as this. If Thompson and Taylor aren't playing hurt, they've regressed big time this year.

Yeah, I think there's a strong argument to be made that Malzahn is simply Freeze with no scandal and more years of head coaching experience (and thus more losses/down seasons that Freeze inevitably would have experienced).

This exactly.

I hate to get on a soapbox, but I think BVS has caused a large portion of this fan base to have lost their collective minds.

I mean it’s this easy. Just read posts from 4-5 years ago regarding Freeze.

Our fans correctly identified he was a program destroying cheater that would get a show cause and his team on probation.

And that’s exactly what happened...

Now many of those same fans are advocating for his hiring?

Honestly, it’s bizarre. Imagine if Barnes retired our fans were rabid to hire Will Wade or *gulp* Bruce Pearl

Okay, I had time to come off my high horse from last night - a good nights sleep and rewatched some plays.

Here is another awesome SBV take:

Both QBs are better than JG and not playing them early is on coaching. Wow.

HB does have a strange motion but the ball gets where it needs to go. He did a lot of good little things:

- got through progressions
- climbed the pocket
- hit receivers in stride
- ran when he needed to

He played well for a freshman - he was not helped by the OC or overall game plan.

Shrout also looked good. Better than I have seen in the past. Also on the coaches for not developing him and getting him reps. He has talent for sure.

However , not sure why he even played yesterday. That was a strange coaching move. Why do that!

Overall, we don’t have a QB - we have a roster full of undeveloped players. you have to stick with one not named JG and play him. Too late now I guess.

I blame the coaching - on every level!!!
