Falcons is a great opening. A lot of good pieces to build around. Just need to move off Ryan and Julio and open up that cap.
I’m scared to cut those two. Not that I am thrilled with Matty Ice.... I have zero faith right now that we would draft/sign a good QB.

I am fully aware that UT isn't going to fire Pruitt. That doesn't change the fact that Pruitt sucks, recruits can see that Pruitt sucks, and the overwhelming majority of top-level recruits aren't going to commit to a head coach that they know is likely to be canned sometime in the next 12 months.
Yet, UT has had only 3 decommits and one recommitted. Btw, I can be at every Waffle House in Knoxville within 20 minutes.

Jimmy Hyams has got to be the biggest prick in Knoxville media. Why throw that out there, that JG practiced all week? He knows we want a QB change and was feeling good about HB starting. He could've waited until closer to game time tomorrow to tweet that crap. At least he could've said "HB could possibly start"..... that would have left a little hope for tomorrow. The Knoxville sports media has some real goobers covering UT.

End rant
Or he's preventing mass suicide from shocked Tennessee fans when JG takes the field. He's preparing the faithful for what is to come.

Yep... unless aTm needs/wants to play to bolster their playoff hopes. The SEC is flex-scheduling to help the top teams, and UT is allowing Sankey to make proxy decisions on UT's behalf. Sankey would like to move up and cancel games, instead of playing non-essential games on 12/19. UT's season could end any minute, due to COVID or cancellation... which is why Pruitt's job security doesn't depend on how the season plays out-- it depends on whether Boyd and Fulmer decide staying the course is no longer the right option based on multiple factors.

Which, again, is very ironic that Sankey criticized the ACC for what it did with Clemson and ND. Sankey is doing and has done the very similar things.

Bass was buttoning his collar all the way to the top to emulate Butch, thought he was going to win 9 games and beat Florida in 2017, and tried to light me on fire for suggesting Pruitt would never win a conference championship here.

The fact he doesn't think Cut would be a good hire should be viewed as a seal of approval.

Oh, also, he was damn sure Pruitt would be more successful than Dan Mullen.

At this point in time and with all due respect to Cut, I agree with Bass on this one.

Not really apples to apples considering this is a 10 game all SEC season. Not saying JP is a great coach, but it’s a fact when comparing seasons. Butch went 0-8 in SEC his last year and still got 4 wins.

👍 Good point. Please check back with me and rub my nose it in when Pruitt accomplishes this.

The SEC is shuffling everything on a week-by-week basis under the new flex-scheduling policy. Nobody's even bothering to adjust schedules, since dates, times, teams and TV schedules are being reset by the conference, at Sankey's discretion.

I received an email last week, and I believe UT made an announcement. But maybe they didn't.

I do wish we could get in a couple more games just for HB and the younger guys.

Knowing Jimmy Hyams, he would be talking about JG practicing all the week of Sept. 14 :p

Ugh. Friend of mine just sent me clips of the 4th and 14 in 2015 and Feliepe Franks for the win in 2017. I was at both. I briefly pondered linking the clips here so you could all suffer with me, but I thought better of it.

I just see all these stat lines throwing for 300 and 4 Tds - people with that kind of expectation are gong to be disappointed.

I think showing sings of life is what we will see and that will be enough for me. I just want to see some upward trajectory.

I want a reason for hope.
Based on our proclivity to pass the ball and UF's defense, an average should be something like 14/24 for 180 imo.

On the other hand, UF might just score so fast that we get in more possessions than usual.

Main X factor is if we dial it back with a true freshman or just let him throw like 20-35 times for growth.

The 2nd option. Let’s do the 2nd option.

But is he?

We have seen speculation of what he might do but from me seat the only thing he’s done at this point is make a great attempt to get all these games played.
