Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

I used to agree with this, I'm not as sure anymore. It seems like defenses have caught up to the power spread that he favors (Chip Kelly, Butch Jones, Gus Malzahn) and I'm not sure he's got a counter. Definitely would need to get a better O-line coach than Herb Hand, that's been a big part of their leveling off the last couple years, at least against the better defenses.
What’s your take on Yurcich then? It was his baby this season.

You were sitting down to pee when you typed this, weren’t you

We're not far off from each other on him. I agree he'd probably be an upgrade over Pruitt, but you could have said the same about Butch over Dooley.

As for his maturity issues before getting to Texas, while I wouldn't ever use Zach Smith to prosecute my case, from what I have read his allegations about Herman's days at tOSU have more than a little truth to them. Herman also had a big feud with a local radio guy (Nick Wright) in Houston, and his players weren't real happy about the way he left that program.

He did recruit very well at Houston, getting Ed Oliver to stay home, and his classes at Texas 2018-2020 were great to elite, but like Butch, I think a lot of that comes from selling a vision of a program that never fully materialized. Once the same problems keep happening, players begin to question the sacrifices being demanded of them.
I’m sorry. Using Butch as an analogy loses me. Zach Smith’s stories also. Herman’s wife was close to Smith’s and they helped her out when she finally fled from him. Considering source kind of thing. And a radio personality clashing with a coach? Call TMZ!

I’ve heard people say this is the loudest moment in Neyland history. I’ve also heard the Travis Stephens go ahead TD against Georgia in 01. My personal loudest was Jennings burning Tabor in 16.

Loudest I’ve heard it was the stoerner stumble.

Loudest moment at Neyland for me was UT-Bama in 1998. We were undefeated and leading but Shaun Alexander scored a TD to tighten the score. Neyland was silent until Peerless Price housed the kickoff. My ears rang for 3 days.

@volatil has to be one of your favorite games, I am sure.
James was Jr’s coach in off season. Jr asked him about this moment. He said were you nervous after missing the XP? James said no I stood beside Coach Fulmer on the last drive and kept saying I will hit it from anywhere on this field. Said when it hit his foot he knew immediately it was good. Great moment in Tennessee history.

That just crazy talk! Seriously, 12.7% of the U.S. population is African-American. According to the article, 10.8% of FBS coaches are African-American which is pretty dang close unless one is just looking to make some kind of woke statement.
Only 11% of coaches are black? That's...not ok.
