...which is the biggest reason I think he’s a crap hire. The dude called hookers on his state issued work phone. I don’t want anybody that stupid mowing my grass.
Well at least they were adults and not children that's one positive

There is no reading between the lines, if the bylaws do not explicitly give the commissioner the power to deny a hire he doesn’t have it.
He seemed to have the power to deny him getting hired 2 years ago, I doubt that power has changed any.

Sankey consulted Saban and Gus by telling them they could not hire Freeze and they did exactly as he consulted them to do.

Lol, it's cute that you think Sankey tells Saban he can or can't do anything.

Hey, remember that time that some SEC coaches wanted covid 19 transfer waivers and Sankey said he didn't have the power to change it, that the members had to vote to change it?

Yeah, he also doesn't have the power to change the phrase "consult directly with" to mean "defer decision to" either.

Not what I asked, I asked if he and I'll ask you, Do you mind cheating to win? If you do then I personally think it's a reflection of a person's character.
I've never really thought about it because those are not my decisions to make. But I don't have a problem giving second chances. Freeze didn't commit violent crimes he made mistakes. With the being said I don't believe Tennessee would hire him anyway. This university is old fashioned and prideful.

I take it that you are not fond of cheating to win and can only assume that's what you would teach your own when it comes to sports. In the end do cheaters ever really win?

Can't keep up can you mr negativity. I stated clearly that the programs could vote and change the bylaws but none of them challenged the bylaw 2 years ago when Saban wanted to hire Freeze, why do you think they've changed their minds now? You thinking Saban is more powerful than the commissioner sounds like something an Alabama commie fan would say, your name isn't Marty is it?

I've been cheering for UT for 4 decades. Worrying about them being the only clean program in the ncaa never crossed my mind. Didn't diminish any of those wins either
Not what I asked, you either don't mind the cheating or you do, can't have it both ways and not be considered hypocritical.

So you have no problem with cheating to win I assume, speaks to your character I feel.
I have no problem doing what the competition is doing. It’s called a level playing field. If the NCAA and it’s members were really concerned about morality instead of money then NCAA football would be about as appealing and popular as bowling.
Lifetime bans for cheating coaches and players and rule violaters, millions in fines for schools would clean it up.
But is that what we really want?

Please, do enlighten myself, and everyone else in the thread, to where is says in section 19.8.1.2 of the SEC bylaws, that the commissioner has the power to veto a coaching candidate. Here, I'll even screen cap it for you before I go make coffee.
