I really feel like a nutcase for the amount of reflection I've put into this list for a job that looks less likely to be available by the day.

1) Campbell (Michigan is going to hire him, but I can dream.)
2) Satterfield (Think he was interested in South Carolina, but that's not a job you leave Louisville for.)
3) Herman (I'll buy that Texas is just too big of a job - if he won 9 games here we might build a statue.)
4) Brown (Loved him for his time at Troy and think he's done a good job rebuilding the roster at WVU. Dana tore that place down on the way out.)
5) Fuente (I think what he did at Memphis is being slightly undervalued here. I also believe it's very hard to replace a legend like he did with Frank Beamer and VT. Don't think the fans ever fully bought in there.)

Under this list, there are guys like Napier, Brohm and Chadwell I think are worth exploring.

Neal Brown has done a nice job at WVU so far.

Honestly I've always felt like Crouch should be OLB if he's insistent on playing defense. He's got the size to be a very good edge guy who occasionally covers a TE or RB for short route assignments.

Also are Eason/French in the doghouse or just not ready? Both seem to have better size for OLB than Banks and Crouch.

I am all for advocating for this young lady and recognizing her for this accomplishment. I hope she goes on to do great things in whatever field she chooses. If Mason did ask her to speak at halftime, and if ESPN recorded it to make it more public, I can see why players are upset. I don't think they hold it against her, but I dang sure would be ticked at whomever thought this was a good idea.

Media/PR types have no idea how many hours the players put in over the course of their career just to even make a SEC roster, let alone get to play, and get the opportunity to be the face of the team. No concept of how many times they've gotten rocked, and then put their hand in the turf and pushed themselves back up to play another down.

I would be furious if I was on that team.

Greg Roman could get a look as well.

There's people... Well connected people... On this board who refer to that man as a genius.

I just want a coach with frickin' laser beams....is that too much to ask?

Or one that doesn't have the backup QBs rolling boogers on the sidelines during practice.

Or one that plays the best players regardless if they are freshman.

Or one that can hire the right assistants and stop the coaching carousel.

Or one that used to call hookers on his work phone but has seen the error in that and vows to use a burner next time.

It's not that hard.

You know nothing about football if you think kickers are not considered part of the team. They are just like any other player, they have to prove their value and earn respect.
The problem at Vandy is no one wants a player who has been on team for three days tell everyone what to do. She earned no ones respect and her ability is subpar.
I know kickers are part of the team. Peyton does too but it didn't stop him from calling out his kicker when he ran his mouth. I should have said---some players don't consider kickers part of the team.

By the way, Orangebloods, which you can't always trust because they are irrational homers at times, is saying Texas officials flew up to Columbus to meet with Meyer this morning.

I don't really care about the Texas opening or who they hire, just interesting that Texas is going this far before firing Herman. We should take notes.
Del Conte the AD fired their successful (only one in their history) women’s softball coach for an upgrade to Oregon’s hotshot and same for women’s basketball landing Vic Schaeffer. Merely good isn’t his bar...nor is patience apparently. I still think Herman gets another season, but those tires are getting brutalized!

Scary how accurate that is, you put Fitz in control day 1 with Butch and we've got an East title or two with people still lovingly talking about bricks and turnover trash cans.
I don't believe that. Not at all. For a couple of reasons. First of all, with Lawson he still lost 4 games he should have won in 2015. He let all 4 teams come from behind and beat him when we were up 14 points. That's not good coaching. Then, with the most talented team TN has had since who knows when, he still win 8-4 with losses to crappy SC and Vandy teams. Further, he did not recruit the QB position well. Following Dobbs he had nobody. JG and Dormady were both awful and neither one would have led us to seasons that would have kept him here. As we can see, JG is the primary reason why a 2nd coach is about to be fired during his tenure as starting Qb. Not to mention his 2017 and 2018 recruiting classes were atrocious.

Dobbs made Butch.
You'll find no disagreement from me. I wanted Butch gone after 2016 and was probably his most vocal critic on this board. I do not like the guy at all.

But if the S&C program doesn't fall off the face of the earth, he probably wins 6 games in 2017 and survives. At that point, who knows?, but he was recruiting fine.

Ugh. I have this sick feeling we're going to see Bailey make one mistake, and he's going to trot JG out there and let him stare down receivers.
Isn’t JG in the Covid protocol? May not even be in attendance Saturday.
