If he were to make a change, I think Fulmer's first call would be to a different Big XII coach....

...Gary Patterson.

Patterson was interested in the job when it opened a decade ago, and may be looking for a fresh start now that things are getting stale at TCU. He has to think he has maxed out TCU's potential at this point. Patterson to Tennessee would very much fit the profile of what Rick Barnes looked like when he came to UT from Tejas; and Fulmer has to see that as a very successful hire that he could replicate. I also wouldn't be surprised if Fulmer and Patterson had developed a relationship over the years.

And why would Milton come here? Why not Nebraska and play for Frost. Frost has already told him he can join the staff as a coach when he is done playing football. I dont see what they are going to pitch to transfers.
I don’t think he would. But he is who I would heavily target.

Hes got something built at TCU and he was upset that he didn't really get considered the first time. Hes not coming here

Herman couldn't win at Texas....would not win here....unless you're fine with just winning 7-8 games a year.

62.5% win percentage isn't winning? I mean he's only been there 3.5 seasons and hasn't had a losing record once. I think Texas is just moving on too quickly, but maybe there's other friction with him and the AD/Admin that's pushing it.

Weird Texas is moving on from Herman...I mean he's lost 3, but OU needed 4 OTs to beat 'em and TCU was just a 2 point loss. Considering all the Covid issues I'd actually be fine with the season they've had, losing 3 games all close and all to quality teams isn't bad at all.

They got the $$$ to chase the white whale that's Urban, most have some sort of information that he's interested to make this move now.
And the Texas RB fumbled at the one yd line going in to win the game at the very end vs TCU.

Yep, the bottom feeders are going to be fed to the sharks.

I saw MTSU had their season ended due to COVID related stuff but UAB needs one more game to be eligible to win their CUSA division. So, guess what? MTSU is getting fed to UAB on Sunday this week.

Yep. And look for both UF and aTm to make these games as one-sided as possible. If both games are allowed to be played in the COVID environment, they will be viewed as statement games.

Everybody talking like Herman is fired already...tap the breaks folks, one tweet does not fire a coach.

True, but after he's fired (which he will be) will it be too late for us to hire him in our heads, bignewt?!?! WE CANNOT WAIT!

I tend to believe that, with the way things are going, we only move away from Pruitt if we get an agreement with his replacement. It would have to be a sure thing.

Reading the reporting from Feldman and Rittenburg, the momentum seems to be headed towards bringing Pruitt back and allowing him one last chance to get the offense right. Not what I would do, but I trust those guys and what they're saying.

Freeze is out. I feel like that's something I *know*. Given that fact, who are some candidates that would give Fulmer a promise behind the scenes while also being reputable enough to make paying $20M worth it?

I’m here for it.

I was really afraid you were going to say Gundy.

I'm sure the SEC would rather UT play aTm than Vandy. It wouldn't be surprising to see Sankey move up UT-aTm and scrap the Vandy game under the SEC's flex scheduling policy, if aTm wants that to happen. That would have UT playing two potential playoff teams back-to-back, but the SEC doesn't care about irrelevant teams. Sankey is focused on playoff positioning for SEC contenders and playing games he feels are advantageous to that.

Huh ?

tenn vandy already is the last weekend isn’t it ?

at least cbs sports app is showing A&M the 12th

The weird thing with the Pruitt stuff is that for whatever reason it's almost like the offensive side of things just hasn't gelled for whatever reason. I think that with Chip Long and Coach O both on staff already the "new age" offense/OC is present. But if Pruitt hired Chaney to be his Yes man then will the change occur as long as he is still the head coach?

Chaney, Chip, & O all can/have ran more modern high powered offenses than what we do now. There's also the limitations of **** QB play from JG & even worse QB coaching.

I honestly think you remove Weinke & JG and give the keys to the OC you're paying with some freedom and things improve drastically.

2021 Offensive staff to me at least
Co-OC/OL - Chaney
Co-OC/TE - Chip Long
QB/PGC - Tee Martin
WR - Joe Osovet
RB - Jay Graham

Ya eliminate Friend & Weinke, and let that staff design/run a more modern offense while also freeing up a slot to add a DB coach.

Texas is also a job similar to Michigan. I think it’s a gassed up program by the alumni and media Bc of the following. Also texas high school football is overrated due to numbers and the amount of schools located there and pulling from there.

If they’re moving on from Herman it’s because they strongly feel they can hire Urban. I wish our administration had this kind of proactive approach.

Anyone else think the thought of Urban taking over a program after one of his protege's was fired is a bit creepy? Just win, I get it, but it's not like herman has been a total dud.

I can't remember the last time I heard positive news around the Tennessee football program. This has caused me to dial back my interest big time. I just can't be 'on edge' with this program. With that said, I do believe Pruitt gets in to next year to prove he's capable of leading the program.
