If I were in JP’s shoes...I would probably look to the future. Shore up one of the best ‘22 classes the program has ever seen and make it extremely hard for the administration to get rid of me for fear of loosing such a talented group of players...
That would make it hard indeed.

But he can’t if the fans are in a revolt and his seat is red hot. Freeze would bring in almost all of them.

Give us a reason why we should believe you. We’re about to go 3-7. 5 losses in a row by double digits. Uncompetitive with our rivals, blown out by Uk and AR. Why should we believe that everything is going to be fine?
Because we all either overreact or under react and the truth is somewhere in the middle. And we will find our way out of it one way or another.

most people just look at it as losing 1 recruit but what they don’t realize is this one recruit carries a big stick!..and could lead to a avalanche of loss recruits!..it’s very concerning because these kids like to join other highly ranked recruits to try and build something..this is bad

If I was a recruit and just saw two of the top recruits decommit it would cause me to think maybe I need to look around. This is just the start.

I would argue a new coach is more likely to land the stronger 22 class because they’ll see JP a dead man walking
Thats my point. Give us Napier( not at the top of my list.) He goes 6-6 or 7-5 in year one he has something to sell to that class. A 6-6 Pruitt doesn't know if he's keeping his job or not and those guys will go elsewhere. The only good part about AV's post is the 22 class is strong, but UT will easily mismanage it and most of those guys will go elsewhere.

Well, we’ll see you when you get back.
That's the thing, the admin is flirting with disaster. Couple an aging fanbase with poor performance, mix in some apathy and you get the current climate. If this administration doesn't make a real play at a serious candidate, not some Fisher Price My First Big Head Coaching Gig candidate and I'm not sure many of those fans come back. And if they do how many are jaded by apathy and resemble a casual Vandy fan who buys a bumper sticker and a t shirt each year and watches from home?

Do those 2022 players really buy into Pruitt right now and the product on the field? I'm not sure Pruitt is able to do this especially if there is some staff turnover and these instate prospects have to get to know position coaches all over again. And yet, it's at least been alluded to by some that if Chris Weinke is gone, then that really hurts with Ty Simpson. It seems like he and Walter Nolen could be the anchors for the 2022 class if they were to commit to UT.

A damn good basketball coach indeed. I love watching our basketball team play. We’re disciplined, we play exceptionally hard, and we are a top program that’s now relevant. There’s not much more we can ask.
Because they went out and got a proven coach. Hmmm maybe they should try that in football?

Where do you mods gauge the fan feelings toward Pruitt right now compared to where they were with Dooley in October 2012 and Butch in October 2017?
What do you see as differences in those situations?

I can’t speak for anyone other than myself:
I’m out on Pruitt because of Jeremy Pruitt. I gave Dooley and Butch the same chance.
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any bright spots under this staff. In fact, I was skeptical out of the gate Bc of some his staff hires.

I don’t see the scheme, the preparedness, the growth...

what do we hang out hat on?
Where is the marked improvement?
We don’t even have a staple set of plays on offense that we know we can get 3 yards on No matter what.

we haven’t beat a single team with a pulse in what’s going on 3 years now.
THATS A PROBLEM.

Would like to know if the decommits are because the product is terrible or they are leaving because they want to play for cjp and think he won't be here. If it is the latter and Fulmer does nothing to ease their fears then we know where this is heading and there is no need in waiting.

We are not changing the head coach.

We will be fine.

It’s going to be okay.

You guys are good dudes and I have nothing but respect. But this sounds like damage control. There are a ton of fans that have lived through Dooley and Jones and know when the end is the end. GSU, BYU, KY, playing JG, staff turnover, defensive press conferences, lack of player development, record double digit losses, and now we are losing top recruits....the list goes on. We struggle to find any positives, really.

If you can give me one good reason, just one, that we will be more competitive against Bama, UGA, and FL in year 4 I will feel better about Pruitt coaching next year.

How do you recruit when every wants you fired? Other coaches will tell players that Pruitts on borrowed time. He has to win. I don’t think a 6-6 season or even an 8-4 season sells the future if you get blown out by your rivals. The team is bigger than one recruiting class and a good coach can win with the talent we have. Recruiting won’t be around forever if he keeps putting out pitiful teams.

See lots of ridiculous stuff on here. The idea that UT should hire who the fans want is towards the top of the list of most ridiculous ideas shared on volnation. Congrats!

Lol I guess us fans are completely blind to who’s winning around the league with less that’s the whole point behind my statement and the fans want FREEZE! no one eles...if you assumed I was hinting at other options and a full all out coaching search outside of freeze then that’s your mistake .so yea hire who the fans want
