I could see it. I dunno about the hate becoming tenfold but it would definitely bring some heat on that bald head about why he stuck with Jarrett so long.

I could see some of that in the immediate reaction but, overall, I think most would be happy that things are looking up and recruiting was possibly salvageable.

Curious who the "Covid QB" is. Mainly just hoping it isn't HB. It would affect him a lot more in prepping that would the others. And of all the teams that gets inside of JG's head - UF is easily the worst. It's like he personifies our Florida BVS each time he plays them. Maurer looked awful against them last year as well.

Assuming Shrout doesn't suddenly come out of hiding, I think we have to ride with HB as long as he can play reasonably well. If he sinks badly, then let JG go get Pruitt fired and gaslight this *****

True, they waited until 1-3 to can him. So he wasn't available. Either way I think Lane shoulda stuck to being an OC instead of those 20 games spent with the Raiders.
Hard to turn down as a college Co-OC.

What's even crazier is how good that 2010 class was (mostly Lane guys).

3 NFL pro-bowl OL guys, Bray, Hunter, Da'Rick, Neal, Rivera all in that class which ended up 7th despite us also having a Punter & Kicker in it. That class would have been the footprint for Lane's era to really take off.

@Atlanta VOL

I have a request on behalf of my 9 year old son. Do you have an email or contact I can send the request to? The request is small, but would make a big impact on him.

Thanks either way

All Dooley guys right?

I respect many posters' opinions on here (some of them want to be rid of Pruitt after this season). As for me, I believe he should get more time. The guy can recruit and there's a really good class coming in to join plenty of good underclassmen talent. Is Pruitt flawed? Yeah, he could be playing younger guys alot more. Seems that the season-to-date has come down to: dreadful loss at home to Kentucky; Georgia second half; Arkansas second half; Auburn second half. There's a common denominator in much of those games (JG interceptions), but also, poor pass blocking, 3rd down conversions by our defense. Pruitt and staff deserve some blame for that. If we change out some assistants, groom Bailey, and bring in another great class, it feels like the future is really good. Whaddya think?

It's sad. I have a journalism degree and would never even consider going into it as a profession. When I started college, it was still a viable career option, then the recession happened and newspapers started folding left and right.
Yep, I tell folks all the time that even if you want to work in journalism, get a degree in something else.

Could also double major - imo go for something technical - medical, finance, biotech, whatever it is that floats your boat. Then you have a niche with the knowledge to back it up...and if that doesn't work out then at least you have a viable degree in industry.

My take on Pruitt and ultimately the biggest flag I see is how he's stuck by two of his buddy's despite them appearing to be absolutely trash at player development & coaching their position groups. (Friend/Weinke)

Weinke I guess recruits well, but we've not seen any growth from any QB that he's had time with. He recruits well and I do think once the transition happens and HB is giving the offense fully you'll see better results, once you "hit" on a great QB you see how easy being a HC can be.

Dabo landed Watson/Lawrence and look where he is now
Urban had Alex Smith, Tebow, Barrett, Jones (damn good at finding elite QBs and getting out of their way)
Fulmer had Peyton & Casey for the bulk of his successful seasons

I mean it's a small sample size, but what I saw from HB against Auburn tells me he's definitely good enough to win you games and I don't think he's going to be JG bad where he outright loses you games. Still would like to see Chaney or Tee handle QBs moving forward and Weinke shown the door.

Friend is more obvious imo, way overpaid and despite having the most talented group the on-field product still seems to be struggling.

Asking for a bit of a unicorn though, because if they major in something technical the money will be too great to settle for that $20k/year entry level reporter salary.

That's like companies in my field nowadays wanting SEO/SEM/copywriters to have dev experience. Uhhh...if they have dev experience, they're just gonna be devs because it pays a hell of a lot more.

My experience has been if you can communicate well, you can get a journalism gig as long as you have a degree.

I would never recommend anyone aim for that field - work in something else and dabble if you have the itch.

Agree 100%. JP doesn't understand the concept of surrounding your self with people that make you look better. If you micro-manage, then you get what you ask for.

Journalism is still a solid career path if you're upper crust and well connected, but Average Joes will end up making zilch at local newspapers or writing for some online blog rag for peanuts.
