For all the folks on here saying no to Freeze due to the dirty dealings he once pulled off just remember that mistake cost him many millions of dollars so I highly doubt he would try such stupidity again. No, Gruden rumors were to force Currie to make a move due to booster and fan base pressure. Currie was the most incompetent lame duck AD at any power 5 school. Currie pissed off a lot of powerful people when he refused to listen to reason and instead delayed what needed to be done. I said this 3 years ago and I say it today - UT Vols fan base collectively underestimate their influence if it is focused. In terms of Freeze, boosters have definitely had early informal conversations with his people and other coaches to gauge interest. Not saying a move is being made but if UT loses to Vanderbilt this season then I am placing my money on a change being made.

If I'm Freeze I'd hang tight. He could end up with the stadium named after him at Liberty. Heck, he's young enough that he could see them added to the ACC someday. With the resources Liberty has and the sweet situation he has there, I'd sit tight and only leave for the LSU or Bama job (both of which will be open sooner rather than later)

Liberty has a 25000 seat stadium, no recruiting base, and no tv deal of note. There's no money there over the long haul and no prospect of winning meaningful titles. It was mainly funded by Falwell Jr cashing in his father's life insurance and making it a mostly online degree mill.

It's really a miracle Freeze has them playing as well as they are. You aren't going to attract much talent to a school that doesn't allow the football players to have girlfriends, drink, curse, or even watch R-Rated movies.

Though they clearly don't mind bending morals for sports. Their A.D was fired from Baylor for his part in their scandals and Freeze has his hooker issues.

Being placed on NCAA probation with sanctions including a postseason ban would be much different than anything we have ever endured before... and we did win a bowl game last season against a better than average team.

I agree it would be different but only because it proves were actually trying.

Think of the schools who have won championships recently, the vast majority have some sort of sanctioned history.

I seriously doubt we're going to hire this guy... he completely screwed his team and his AD.

3 million is 1/3rd what he could make being excellent in the SEC. He'd be insane not to get out while he's hot. At places like Liberty you're always one group of players away from being 3-9 vs 9-3.

Plus who knows how committed they will be to athletics going forward over the years. Falwell and Falwell Jr were the ones driving that. One is dead and one just got fired in disgrace.

They don't have a huge campus or stadium or anything, their online stuff is a nationwide program so yes they do have tons of money. Lynchburg VA is very bland.
