Vanderbilt game postponed

Why would UT want a game with Vandy postponed? Do we have positive cases? I have a hard time believing the SEC would move games around just for the heck of it.
Not sure of the reasons but this one is going to backfire. We had a chance, with Vandy, to break the losing streak this week and give the team a boost. Now we will have a SIX games DOUBLE DIGIT losing streak, and an even more demoralized team when we play Vandy on the 12th.. That will set things up nicely for them to make it a seven game losing streak heading into TAMU....

Ohhhhhhh

Boyyyyy

I agree...And I just don't believe our game with Vandy was postponed just because UT wanted it postponed without it being covid related which I haven't seen....If Ark had not had covid issues and had to postponed their game this weekend against Mizzou we would be playing Vandy this weekend. The SEC made this move, not UT...IMO, unless I see...read or hear different.

It wasn't our choice, they wanted Mizzou and Vandy to play a make up game. Evidently these teams have missed more games than others and it would make the schedule work as Tennessee can play Vandy Dec 19th, but Mizzou is already doing a make up game on that date.

It doesn't affect us unless we have to canx another game left (FL, aTm & Vandy).

Austin Price said we lobbied for it. Apparently, we have a few starting OL out due to + tests or contract tracing.

This is inaccurate. I've heard - and now a Vandy writer - has all but confirmed that Tennessee lobbied HARD to have the game moved because of Covid outbreaks. Why in the world they didn't just come out and tell everyone the truth they spin it as this is what the SEC wanted. This is NOT TRUE. And quite frankly Vanderbilt is irritated on what went down.

The Vandy guy was on Basilio's show today and told some more of the story. This was Vandy's homecoming game and with it right after Thanksgiving a lot of the players parents were coming into town to watch the game. They had been unable to do it all year and we basically pull the rug out from under them and now Vandy is on the road playing at Missouri Saturday.

So Vandy will now have a bigger chip on their shoulder when they do play us in a few weeks. If that doesn't get cancelled.

missing a few starters and Pruitt/ Fulmer wanted it moved
CJP did not want this game canceled and he fought hard not to have it moved. Do you really believe he would rather have Florida be HB's first start and not Vandy?

Vandy is ticked off because now instead of having a home game Thanksgiving weekend they have to travel to Como. And based on this article from the Knoxville News it has nothing to do with Vandy or UT having covid issues. It was a SEC office decision. See no way the SEC office would allow any SEC to lobby out of a game.

What the Vols football schedule may be after Vanderbilt postponement

He is the most literal coach in the country, when he said as recently as yesterday that JG gives us the best chance to win, he meant it. He has downplayed HB every chance he's gotten.
Well it is true that that JG did give us the best chance to win, but his catastophic errors have made him the best chance to lose as well. It may not be pretty but I believe CJP is ready to move on.

I'm in the dark about this one. From what it seems, Arkansas can't play this weekend because of COVID, so they are having Vandy play Mizzou (Arkansas's opponent) instead of Tennessee. I guess Mizzou had already had one game canceled because of COVID so they need to play to play to get to 10 games.
The issue now is unless Tennessee is going to play in the third weekend of December, the Vols won't get to 10 games.
At this point I don't really care if we get to 10 games. It's hard to watch.
