Oh the part where she was a fairly well respected fed prosecutor before going into private practice. When she took up Flynn’s case I looked it. Throw all the shade you want but before this fiasco she has a deep resume so I have her the benefit of the doubt.

Flynn didn’t do what the FBI claimed, he plead to a process crime which the interview forms show there wasn’t any strong indication he had lied.

Flynn’s crime was being fired by Barry and then associating with Trump. That’s it.

The Georgia Senate runoff elections in January, are probably playing a big role in this. The biggest concern for Republicans is that these accusations Powell has been making against Loeffler and Kemp could hurt their voter turnout among the base. That is why a line is being drawn. I would bet that Mitch McConnell got involved and told the White House that Powell had to go. Perdue is safe, but Warnock can beat Loeffler if the Trump base doesn't turn out.

Fun fact: she was one of the prosecutors in the trial of an alleged drug dealer named Jimmy Chagra. Right before the trial, the judge was assassinated and Charles Harrelson (father of Woody from "Cheers") was charged. Harrelson and some of his family always maintained he didn't do it, Chagra and his legal team set him up, and the government didn't fully investigate other leads. Harrelson also claimed to have been involved in the JFK assassination. Chagra later pled guilty to keep his wife out of jail, but she got locked up anyway. There's a podcast about Charles Harrelson that's pretty interesting called "Son of a Hitman."

Edit: this post is in no way meant to convey the sentiment that I think Powell is sane.
