Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yep. People should read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair and learn why the FDA was created. Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser is another good one that is more recent. Got a feeling we'll be seeing some books about food processing during COVID pretty soon.

The inspector at that plant sat in an office the entire shift and an employee with a stamp put USDA inspected on everything coming down the line . Big cuts of meat are ok , we shouldn’t ever wonder what goes in ground beef that’s sold by the pound ( if you want to keep eating hamburgers ) 😊

I know what you mean, however, this is not a drill, in my opinion..

It's not enough to look out for yourself (ourselves), unless that includes everyone. A worst case scenario seems possible. Not hoping for it, but I feel like we are a frog in a pot with a thermometer floating in front of us.

JMO, and the analogies might not be the greatest, but that's what I believe.
It's the end of November, not one flu case yet in our ICU.

Dr. Hodkinson's claim that there is no evidence for wearing masks is not true. Below, an excerpt from the New England Journal of Medicine states evidence for wearing them.

This article in the New England Journal of Medicine argues that universal mask wearing reduces not just the number but also the severity of infections among persons exposed to the virus, by reducing the viral load of exposure. In July, the rate of infections showing symptoms was estimated by the CDC to be 60% among persons infected. In places where masks were required, the rate of infections which produced symptoms was less than 20% of the infected persons.

"The typical rate of asymptomatic infection with SARS-CoV-2 was estimated to be 40% by the CDC in mid-July, but asymptomatic infection rates are reported to be higher than 80% in settings with universal facial masking..."

People do not wear masks during this pandemic for one fundamental reason. They do not care if they are carrying the disease and infecting other people with it. I'm going to say that again. They just do not care.
thanks, been wearing one for a year, I get your position even though you are fundamentally wrong on so many points. Mask up, stay 6 feet away from others, you might want to get gloves because Lord knows how many pick up live herpes off surfaces in public, sanitize your groceries, wash your hands after you touch anything, don't answer the door, don't Ever take your mask off( you never know when that crafty corona might turn on the afterburner and hit you right in the suck), don't use public bathrooms, order offline and above all else..... don't procreate.

I'm responsible to be a pt advocate not a patient owner. They are responsible for their health just as I'm responsible for mine. I don't own the responsibility for your health, you do. Have at it and stop escaping your own responsibility by placing it on others. ( see above tips for being a hermit, it'll suit you)

I don’t care that you choose to wear a mask , I also don’t care if you see me without one and avoid me all together . So you are correct . Also .. is a Virus a disease?

I take it y'all won't have him over for turkey sandwiches

Absolutely we will , he is more than welcome to come over , we have a 22 pounder that I’m going to cook . None of us will be wearing a mask though ..because we don’t care . If it makes him feel more comfortable, I’ll set him up a little table in the corner 6ft and 1inch away from us at the big table . I’m not putting a mask on my dog tho so I he will just have to get used to a husky without one on staring at him while he eats . Lol
