2020 Presidential Race

What is this sex thing? I am a married father of 3. When my wife wakes me up in the middle of the night now, it is to talk about a project she wants me to do around the house. The sad thing is she wakes me up from a dream where I am having sex. SAD!

I too am married, and a father of 1. At least my child will carry the proof that I have indeed at least once had sex.

“They were threatened into changing their votes!”

I realize this is from the chairwoman of the GOP so I mean she probably pulled all the juicy threats to make it look better for democrats, but... yeah. Not seeing anything even remotely inappropriate here.

I guess if there was an unspoken “with legal/political consequences” to the above statement, then maybe it wasn’t a lie.

This is just shameful.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said “numbers don’t lie” as he plans to certify Georgia’s election results Friday that showed Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump.

“Like other Republicans, I’m disappointed our candidate didn’t win,” Raffensperger said during a news conference at the state Capitol. “Working as an engineer throughout my life, I live by the motto that numbers don’t lie. As secretary of state, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct. The numbers reflect the verdict of the people.

A republican with principles, and Trumpers vilify him.......par for the course.

TRUMP LOSES GA TWICE!!!!!

I don't care who he voted for. His vote shouldn't count.

I'm fine with that. I just don't see how this is relevant in the context of the current debate. We don't know who this person voted for and there's only speculation that it occurred in significant amounts in key states. This doesn't add up to proof the election was stolen.

The Florida system does count day of but doesn’t report till all are in. I think that should change to counting next day but they don’t stop till the counting is done and except nothing after the poles close same day. The disputed stats could do that and it would be a huge improvement.
Several states stopped counting and started again. That’s established fact.

That's actually a falsehood, despite the misinformation being deliberately spread on election night. Interesting tidbit for future reference: false rumors spread online are actually the opposite of established fact.

PolitiFact - Battleground states did not ‘stop counting’ votes on election night when Trump was ahead

Fact check: No, vote counting in Democrat-led states hasn't stopped

👎

Weird that he is so fixed on Michigan? He needs 37 votes. If Georgia and Pennsylvania do the right thing, it’s over.

And, IMO, if Georgia goes for Biden, nobody in Michigan is going to want to step out on that limb.

Edit: one explanation may be that Georgia’s governor certifies the votes and it looks to me as if he really has no choice.

2019 Georgia Code :: Title 21 - Elections :: Chapter 2 - Elections and Primaries Generally :: Article 12 - Returns :: § 21-2-499. Duty of Secretary of State as to tabulation, computation, and canvassing of votes for state and federal officers; certification of presidential electors by Governor

“The Governor shall enumerate and ascertain the number of votes for each person so voted and shall certify the slates of presidential electors receiving the highest number of votes. The Governor shall certify the slates of presidential electors no later than 5:00 P.M. on the eighteenth day following the date on which such election was conducted.”

This may be remedial, but worth saying: “shall” has a pretty specific meaning in legislation. It means you don’t have any discretion. Kemp would need to “ascertain” that there were more votes for Trump, which is a pretty objective measure that a court could look at and force him to prove.

So looks like GA is done.

Paused / stopped Whatever
It never should have happened. And neither should have anything else that casts doubts on the election process. This is what you get when you spend 4 years claiming the process is flawed and trump stole the 2016 election then screw the pooch on transparency in multiple places.
Good luck convincing everyone the pause wasn’t a stop and it’s all ok.

I’m still in favor of turning federal elections over to the military and the observers get to do nothing but watch.
