Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

2 weeks turned into how long? Now you want 4-6? Nah.

But we didn’t do it right....

"The problem with the March-to-May lockdown was that it was not uniformly stringent across the country. For example, Minnesota deemed 78 percent of its workers essential," they wrote in the New York Times. "To be effective, the lockdown has to be as comprehensive and strict as possible."

LOL - you believe 4 - 6 weeks of "doing it right" would be all it takes? Why is Italy ramping up the shutdowns again? Other Euro countries? NY shut down as tight as anyone and never really reopened and they are shutting it down again - it ain't all from visitors.

The statement from the advisor is so pollyannish - it's typical academic fantasy (I've worked in academia for almost 30 years). He hasn't considered any consequences of the policy and doesn't even define what "lockdown" means.

It’s pure insanity

C'mon you idiots - we must listen to the scientists!

Wonder what he thinks about the countries that did shut down and now are shutting down again - guess they didn't do it right.

It’s the socialism counter argument , we see they all failed by doing it this way but .. it’s because they didn’t do it right .

@kiddiedoc or @NurseGoodVol

I’ve been prescribed a z-pack and dexamethasone. I understand the need for a corticosteroid, but why an antibiotic?

Also, it was recommended that I also take quercetin and famotidine (generic Pepcid) in addition to vitamins C, D, and zinc. Any thoughts on the quercetin and famotidine?
Siap and not addressed to me and not a dr., but the pepcid is an h2 blocker. I dont have tummy issues but my dr put me on 1/day a couple of yrs ago. I get them at sams club. 200 famotidine is I think less than 10 bucks.

In SC it’s recommended to get tested 7 days after initial exposure unless you show symptoms sooner. Either way they say to quarantine for 14 days or 10 days from the date of a positive test. Because the oldest had an inconclusive test she can’t return to school until 14 days after our positive test 10 day quarantine which ended Sunday. The little one went back to school today but they had sent her K4 teacher and entire class home for 2 weeks.
Sorry you’ve had to deal with it. I’m glad it sounds like everyone is ok though.

pretty good tool for folks to use. It basically tells you the chances of an infected person being at a gathering in whatever county you choose based on estimated gathering size. Like right now in Knox county TN, a gathering of 50 people has a 50% chance of an infected person in attendance. It is updated in near real time.
COVID-19 Event Risk Assessment Planning Tool
Excellent. Now I can see how many people we can allow at Christmas. What’s the acceptable percentage? 10%?

For all of you "Blue Lives Matter"/Pro-police conservatives out there...

So what are you going to do when your local police and county deputies start enforcing these lockdowns?

You see already that they are more than willing to enforce silly azz reefer laws, mask mandates and "rolling stop" infractions. So how will you "patriots" react to these brave men in the blue uniforms start cracking skulls on you plebs?

Mine wont I would bet. Knox County SO said early on they weren't wasting their time enforcing the mandate.

No, that was the infectious disease expert Osterholm. But Biden has said he would listen to science and the experts. Hopefully some of those experts happen to be economists as well.

What does this even have to do with being an economist? All you need to do is just print more money like we've been doing all year.

That was when Trump was securely in office. Lets see how much bass and bravado these same sheriffs have next year.
The feds can pull all sorts of crap to make it happen. They might pull access to cool weapons and vehicles that the police purchase if they don’t enforce compliance from a mask mandate. The could use the IRS to fine people who work or don’t shut down their business during a mandated lockdown.

Exactly my point. There are plenty of ways the Feds could get compliance out of these local LEOs. And they will bend to the will of the Feds and pizz on our rights in the process.

These "patriots" and "Blue Lives Matter" folks are going to have a problem on their hands, I'm afraid.
