And let me bump this real quick and add one more thing… If I am close in my thinking that something pushes these coaches away because they know they have no chance of succeeding, then we are in a bigger mess than any of us can possibly realize, and there’s no way we are ever going to be great at football again. We might as well all step back and stop following, and hope that everyone stops buying tickets, so that one day they will realize how much money the football program brought into that university.Hear me out on something...I’ve been thinking about our last three coaches and how it is so similar that it’s scary, how they all three reach a point and it seems like they want out so bad and are willing to tank the program to get their buyout money and leave. The biggest head scratcher of all three is Pruitt coming off an eight game winning streak, and completely imploding. It just doesn’t make sense. Dooley… That made sense. He never had any success here. However, Butch did have some success, but he had an exit strategy coming off back to back 9-4 seasons. Why? I don’t understand why did he want out. We say because the job was too big for him. I’m starting to wonder if it wasn’t as much that, as all three see the writing on the wall. They think they can get everybody rowing in the same direction, they start making some headway, but then something happens, and they realize they cannot be as successful as they were promised, because they can’t get all of the support that they need. Pruitt got a lot more support, but based on what a V said, he’s not getting the full support he needs in order to pull this program out of the dumpster. So what is he going to do? Find a way out and leave like everyone else has. I think that is why @Atlanta VOL has said it won’t matter who we hire, if EVERYONE isn’t all in with full support. Something is scaring these coaches away when they seem like they are on the precipice of getting over the hump and starting to win big. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but it’s something. I think that is what AV is alluding to. I think this is where the power faction who is not in control is trying to sabotage the program so that their money is needed which gives them more power. Just some thoughts
Edit: Sorry I had to finish editing the rest of this as I accidentally hit the post button.
We have talent. Need somebody who trusts it faster. How long do we give him before we expect him to compete? Understand, I'm not arguing for Pruitt, but if we make a coaching change, I don't expect that person will find quick success. They'll have to recruit talent to do that. Fire Pruitt and the current class collapses. People expect the one-time transfer rule to pass, so it wouldn't surprise me to see players leave if Pruitt is fired, maybe even Henry T. I don't believe Hugh Freeze would bring the immediate turnaround that some do. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, he's not, but this will be another rebuild. That's just reality.
Saban started in college and failed in the NFL so came back to what he was good at... Same with Spurrier. I feel like you are either a NFL coach or a College coach for the most part. You are missing the point
Coaches that have flipped flopped back in forth from the nfl to college have had great success in college after failing in the nfl.
saban is all the evidence you need
If im ever a billionaire @Bassmaster_Vol will be our bag man.If I’m ever a billionaire we will be elite.

So..... we just accept sucking for the rest of eternity? Please tell me the AD is aware we will lose out on Freeze. Like they know there has never been a winning coach lined up ready to coach big time football again right? So should we expect coach mcgoogle for 22’?And I basically reiterated that again...don’t see that happening even if folks want to....hard to make it work no matter what lens we look through
